Can anybody tell who provides such router modem that has a switch for wifi? Also another option is provide your own , but some providers don't want you to use your own? Can you help please?

Why do you want to turn the wifi off?
I wouldn't expect a physical switch but if you do into the admin of the router, certainly the BT Hub, Hyperoptic etc you can and I would expect every router to have the option. Obviously to turn it back on you're going to need a device connected by ethernet to get back to control panel unless your router can be controlled remotely.2 -
I turned my Wifi off when I set up a MESH network, very easy to do by logging into the router then turning it off.Wouldn't expect there to be a physical switch.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

If you say what router you have, someone may well be able to help with that.

Pretty much every ISP router allows you to switch off the WIFI in the admin software. Problem then is that to switch it back on you need to be connected tot he router via an ethernet cable. But I assume you must be else it would be pointless even having an internet connection.
What makes you think that your WIFI AP is being targeted?
A half way house would be to change the SSID name and switch of the name broadcasting. You can still connect, but you need to enter the name of the wifi manually. Doesn't mean that someone who knows what they are doing can't scan for it, but most won't see it.

Do you have friends/family over regularly that want to connect? If you dont then change the SSID, turn off broadcasting the SSID and turn on MAC filtering. Ensure your phone/laptop etc have a static MAC and setup the appropriate list of MACs so only your devices can connect and no one can see your wifi to try and "hack it".
Some routers have a "guest wifi" option, if you do have friends/family over fairly regularly you could turn this on/off for when they are there again with SSID broadcasting off.oldernonethewiser said:I turned my Wifi off when I set up a MESH network0 -

Bt Smart Hubs can be an exception when using their own mesh kit, the hub is also a mesh device.0
