That is in no way a cheap tablet and would be very expensive if your kid keeps breaking them. It also includes a data plan, do you need that or will wifi do?

    Thats one is £50 + (48 * £31) = £1,538

You could get an Amazon Fire 10 HD tablet for 1/10th of the price at £149 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CXL5RV2F?

I think what you should be asking is why your child keeps breaking tablets?  Then you can understand and hopefully negate these issues.  Example being my 17 year old daughter still has her very 1st iPad (2nd hand) which works but is super out of date, her cousins were getting newer all the time as they were prone to smashing them through frustration. Are they broken as in smashed or just not updating?  That will guide you on what to buy and help with suggestions.

DON'T get a contract. Just buy a second hand one from CEX, Ebay or Gumtree.

If it's just for Youtube, then you can get old Linx 10 Tablets for about £50

Bought a cheap tablet off Amazon during the black Friday sales. £67 for an 11" tablet.  It's nicer than expected.

Only bought for Plexamp music with some bluetooth speakers but it's more than capable of gaming etc.  Screen is
    superbright and brilliant colours.

Price seems to fluctuate a lot though. It was £99 days after the sale and then down to £95 then £80 and then £95 again.
Just checked and it's back down to £70 now.

Problem with the cheap Chinese ones is that they rarely get security updates, let alone Android version updates.

If you go secondhand then look at the likes of Apple, Samsung, Lenovo or other major brands. But check that it isn't so old that it is not getting security updates either.

Personally, for a cheap tablet I would just go for the Amazon Fire HD ones for what you are looking for as you will be able to get a new one for the price of a seconds hand one that isn't Chinese anybrand.
