Hypothetical charger disaster
We have several chargers plugged in next to each other, and the leads inevitably get tangled up. Given that usb-c charger cables have the same plug at each end, there’s scope to make the mistake of plugging a cable into two different chargers by mistake. Ahem, what will happen? A big flash bang, or the system will cope?

Sending devices with rechargeable batteries internationally
I'm thinking of buying a basic/children's-type camera for a young relative in Switzerland. It would be a brand new product still in original packaging. Does anyone know whether there is any prohibition in place regarding this?

Microsoft account and new Windows computer: am I at risk?
I have had a Hotmail account for years, and it mainly attracts SPAM. However, it seems to have 'morphed' into a Microsoft account and is also what I use for Skype (on which I have a very small credit). So when I recently bought a new Windows 11 computer and found that I needed to sign in to a Microsoft account in order to…

I've recently bought a new PC (not yet set it up). I currently use Microsoft Office Home 2010 on my old PC, but I was going to buy Office 2024 for my new PC because I was getting messages telling me that, because 2010 is no longer supported, it's not particularly safe. Can anyone advise whether it's safer to buy the 2024…

Facebook Marketplace phising scam?
I'm guessing that this is a scam, and have no intention of responding. It was in ref to a listing I have had running for months; the most innocuous thing - a bunch of free Build It! magazines. Is this how these scammers get hold of Marketplace accounts and use it for their dodgy, scammy listings? Do I report it, or just…
