Trying to find clipboard history - Windows 7

I'm still running Windows 7 Pro quite happily and with no great problems. One thing I have discovered just today is an apparent inability to find items added recently to my clipboard - it almost seems to be hidden. Maybe 7 doesn't have one..?

Can anyone tell me what the clicking sequence is to find this? All the 'help' I see from googling gets me nowhere.

To get to your clipboard history at any time, press Windows logo key + V. From the clipboard history, you can paste and pin frequently used items by choosing an individual item from your clipboard menu. Pinning an item keeps it from being removed from the clipboard history to make room for new items.

Clipboard history became a thing in Windows 10 1809 update, and is part of Windows 11.

You need third party tools for any version of Windows older than that (including Windows 7) to replicate the feature.

Ah, right. Recently I saw some talk about 'clipboard history' and assumed that it had always been a Windows feature. Thanks.

    Doing this produces absolutely nothing.

The clipboard in Windows has always been a bit crap to be honest before they introduced Clipboard History, which had been a feature of other operating systems for quite some time.

Because I've had access to Windows since the days of Windows 95, I am still used to only be able to have one item in the clipboard at any one time even now in Windows 11, and keep forgetting that it is a thing to have history :)
