Fingerprint problem since update to Android 16 and One UI 8 - SOLVED
My Samsung phone recently updated to Android 16 and One UI 8 and since then I can't seem to use my fingerprint to log into my banking apps The apps say that biometrics are not set up on my device - of course they are, but the apps don't seem to think so! I've tried deleting and re-scanning my fingerprints but still no joy.

Google Chrome - news feeds
Last week, without any intervention on my part, nor any apparent updates, my previously clean page when using Google Chrome was infested with news feeds and adverts. I have searched intensively (or so I thought) for a solution without success. Every solution offered tells me to go to the settings page (first stop I made)…

Microsoft Money file name
I have been using Money for years now but just a couple months ago the file name name changed from a simple .mny file to my computer's name then a bunch of numbers and letters then .mny. What did I do or the app do to do this? It seems to have all the correct numbers. I still have the original My Money.mny file and I am…

Facebook groups not showing
I'm a member of 20 groups on FB, but sadly of the three that I have 'pinned', all refuse to appear in my newsfeed. My 'go to' place is on my W10 PC using Firefox and the FB Purity extension, but even on G Chrome with no extensions, and using the FB app on my Android phone … still no sign of my 'pinned' groups. Other than…

Hi there. I recently bought a refurbished iPad from Back Market and sent in an old iPad for trade-in. Everything’s been going fine, but I’ve just received an email from them asking for my banking info, birthdate, and driver’s license number (or the last 4 digits of my SSN) before they can process the payment for the old…

Is there a way to try & repair corrupt images?
Having a sort out of my PC which is going to be a long process. Got to 1 folder & there's 2 images I have in a folder which are corrupt. I don't remember this always being the case. The date stamps on them are accurate, the file sizes are what I would expect (700kb & 1mb) but the thumbnails show nothing & when clicking…

Which PC would you buy - new or refurbished?
I'm looking into replacing my 12 year old Windows 7 PC with something more modern, and based on what my wife and I want to use the system for (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, emails, web browsing, watching YouTube, programming and some content creation), I've come down to either Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7, but…

Sorry folks - another Ring doorbell question!
So .. I eventually got our Ring wired doorbell up and running and it all seems to work as it should on my phone. (We don't need what you get with a subscription.) I did the "shared user" thing to my wife's phone, and even got that working in the sense that she can use live view, talk to the doorbell etc. But she doesn't…

However … Is there a way of disabling that horrible three-note chime it makes OUTSIDE when the bell push is…

Seagate not honouring hard drive that's 'out of warranty'.
Not quite sure what's going on here. In 2024 I bought a Seagate hard drive from Amazon. Going in to my order history, under the listing title it says "visit the seagate store" so I'm presuming it was sold by Seagate via Amazon? C.D.I. has given me a warning about the drive so I thought I'd contact them regarding the…

Time for a new laptop
I'm in need of a new laptop, I don't need a really high spec one, as all I use it for is shopping, general browsing, banking and storing photos. My current one has MS office on it, but I really only use word and excel, so if there is an alternative to those? that would be great. I'm used to the keyboard layout and 15 inch…
