Smile (not!)
Following MSE recommendation, I opened a Smile card on-line. This is the Co-op's on-line credit card facilitiy. Unfortunately they were really bad about making it possible to pay the first balance (in full!) before they were able to set up the direct debit. They refused to give me a paying in slip. We managed in the end to…

Avoiding interest on credit card cash withdrawals
The only thing that's not zero on the Santander Zero card is the interest charged on cash withdrawals. Am I right in thinking that the interest can be largely avoided if I pay off the full balance as soon as a cash withdrawal is made?

Hi everybody, a quick q: When a card that you've used for stoozing is paid off and no longer much use to you, is it best to cancel the card completely? Does it look better to future providers if you've got lots of credit available on cards without any outstanding debt, or does it look better if you have less cards on the…
