Royal Mint Login Issues
My second attempt to post this questio as the original seems to be mysteriously locked?? Apologies. Just wondering if anybody else is having problems logging in to the Royal Mint website today? The login/account icon (for want of a better word) has disappeared from my home screen and if I navigate to the login page…

Trading 212 can't change bank details
I've made a little bit of money through Trading212 as recommended here, but my bank details need to be changed so I can withdraw. However, there doesn't seem to be any option in the app to do this. My original card is verified and I can view the details but can't delete or change anything. Can anyone help?

Dividend yearly statement (Section 104 CGT calculations) - Equalisation?
Hi, I am trying to pull together details for my Section 104 to allow me to see how much income from dividends I can off set against my capital gains when selling funds from my GIA accounts. With CGT allowance being so low now at £3,000, this now seems to really matter as I start to move my assets from GIA to ISA. So I am…

1p savings challenge
Started the 1p savings challenge today in two accounts but wondered if anyone knew how much one would save in a year by doubling up each day , ie. 1p,2p,4p,8p and so on.

Best place for a child saving account
I have read the MSE article, but all the accounts are flawed. I want an account which my child can only touch when they are 18 without eating into the isa allowance while also allowing me to touch this money for big purchases (eg a car). Nationwide flex cannot be an option as he already has an account for pocket money. All…

Let's discuss... corporate bonds
There is
surprisingly little discussion of corporate bonds on the forum. That surprises
me, both because they comprise a huge market – higher overall market cap than
equities – and because I see them as a good source of diversification and income.
So I thought I’d start this thread. There is a
sizeable contingent of people…

Rockhopper Open Offer
Having a small position in Rockhopper Exploration (RKH), I've been invited as part of an open offer to purchase a small number of shares at the reduced price of £0.53 per share (current price £0.70). I've accepted the offer, but there's also an option to buy additional shares, should they be available as part of the offer.…

Self assessment for a non-worker with interest under £10k
Hi there. My partner will be paid around £9.5k in interest this tax year. She receives no other income, does not work and does not claim any state benefits or pension. Does she need to complete a self-assessment tax return for 2025-26? My understanding is that if total interest is under £10k then you don’t complete a…

Best fixed monthly saver
Hi I’ve recently had to cancel my medical insurance owing to chronic conditions not being covered and premiums skyrocketed. I’d like to put the money into a fixed monthly saver with a view to keeping these monies for medical stuff if needed ( very very long backstory ). what’s the best fixed monthly long term savings…

Share trading platform for an infrequent trader
I had a wedge of shares on X-O which I would use to sell once a year (if that!) I aim to sit on them long term and only sell when I really need the money (and/or their value is high). I'm not looking to buy any more. X-O only used to charge a small fee per sale (the reason I put them there in the first place). They have…

Account/Children’s saver advice.
Hello, I opened a childrens saver account with my bank when my son was young which he has used to save all his pocket money/birthday money etc over the years. He turned 16 earlier this year and the terms of the account were that the bank was supposed to write to me and ask what I would like to do with the account however…

Reached my emergency fund target and no debt. Mental health so much better!
Today was a big day today. I have reached my emergency fund target of 6 months expenses. It has taken me nearly 9 months to reach doing lots of overtime and cutting back on non-essential expenses. I was also in a lot of debt which I cleared prior to me starting building my emergency fund. Debt was not from frivolous…

I have no clue how to best partition my savings.
Hello All, I am 21 and in a relatively privileged position. I work within the NHS and earn a good salary; my specific job role is about as recession-proof as they come. I live with my parents and have minimal overheads. The main objective for my savings is to afford a mortgage. I have no immediate need to move out, but…

Limited number of withdrawals accounts - close and reopen
I just opened a triple access savings account with my bank, having opened the same account, made 3 withdrawals, closing it on the 3rd withdrawal, earlier in the year. I was half expecting the application to be blocked on the basis that I had already held the same account during the same year and closed it, but no, it was…

How best to deal with Santander Reg Savers
Looking to switch away main joint CA from Santander, but we have a regular saver each with a few months contributions in, which don't mature until June. Assume we can't keep these if we switch away, so what's the easiest way to deal with them. Allow them to be closed automatically? Withdraw the balance and request closure…

Mid year pay rise moving to higher income tax rate. What effect on interest earnings?
Hi all! I'm a teacher and my current salary puts me on the standard income tax rate currently. If all goes well this year, I'll be getting a pay rise so I'll be earning just below the higher income tax rate, by £50 or so. This means I'll be able to earn £1000 of interest tax free, which I've already planned out with my…
