Consultation advice
Hi all Long story short.... I was on a secondment for 12 months, they have no headcount to make the role permanent. 24 hours later I am now at risk of redundancy as my old role no longer exists. My question is, do I have to attend my consultation meeting? This is a very difficult time. Thank you

Unfair Dismissal
Hi, I was recently dismissed from my job for gross misconduct (health & safety) Misconduct: 1) Selling out of date drink (Innocent juices) On one instance a out of date(1 day) bottle was found on shelf by operation manager. (None were sold, no complain from any customer) It was very busy day at shop and we were like always…

Redundant: what are my rights within the same company
In November I was made redundant from my position I was offered another job within the same company doing a different role However I keep being asked to ‘ help’ do my old job The reason for redundancy was a company re structure and apparently the team managers could take on the jobs and roles of those being made redundant…

Redundancy date change
Hi all, I was told back in Feb 2018 that my company would be closing the factory on Jan 31st 20, they gave us our redundancy letters containing our monetary figures and a redundancy date of 31st Jan 2020. Then in May 2019 they told us this was to be extended to 31st July 2020 and again received letters with revised figures…

Being made redundant and panicking about Universal Credit
Hi all... Please be kind , I’m feeling very fragile :( My employer is making company wide redundancies and I’m affected along with other colleagues. I’m currently on long term sick for ME. I’ve had this condition for over 15 years and I’m struggling to keep the symptoms at bay . I suffer awful fatigue daily and I’m in…

False Redundancy?
Never been active here but have been stalking you lot for many years and some of you seem like clever people so here goes. Wondering if you could share your thoughts? Got told that my role (Warehouse Supervisor) is being made redundant due to some restructuring. Also got told that there would instead be a Logistics Team…

I was redundant then I wasen't
Hello. I have a hypothetical question. The company I used to work for was being taken over about 5 years ago which lead to restructuring and redundancies. I was about to be made redundant and knew the package I was going to get and leaving date, which actually suited me at the time because it meant that I would be getting…

Employer Pens Cont on Redundancy?
Hi I am likely to be made redundant soon with a payout of approximately £115k. I will be putting a fair proportion of this into my DC pension. My employer currently pays 10% of salary into my pension (and I pay 2%). However do you know if my employer has to pay the 10% of my redundancy payment into my pension? Thanks

Goods in lieu of wages
Hi I was working for a telesales company until the end of November, when I got a text the day before payday saying there was no money and we would not be getting paid. Had been there 3mnths, they owed me about £1100. Went in to see them, was given £100 direct transfer (which they reported to HMRC) and was told I could keep…

Unfairly selected for redundancy
I’ve been selected to be made redundant from a job/role I’ve been doing at the same place for 20 years. There are new guys they’ve taken on in the last 2 years, with fewer qualifications and much less experience than me who are staying. I believe it’s because I do not get on with a senior manager in our area, then is no…

Made redundant but pensions not paid.
Hi all I was made redundant on 13/12/2019. Although there are a lot of small details associated with that, I'll not cover those at this time. I took redundancy because I knew that the company had been struggling for some time and I preferred to get out with a chance of being paid before they potentially went under. I have…

Redundancy coming up - not sure if lawful

Voluntary redundancy - struggling to understand PILON
My employer is currently offering voluntary redundancy (there's rumours of compulsory redundancies to follow which might be statutory only). This is the first time I've experienced a situation like this so I'm struggling to understand it all. My settlement is £40k which sounded like a good deal but then I started reading…
