Why can't I get unemployment insurance anymore ?

Options
My husband & I are both in full time employment and want to protect ourselves against redundancy should the worst happen.
Since the outbreak of CovID19, quotes have either gone through the roof or you simply can't get one anymore.
Even as recently as Sunday quotes were minimal - £20 but not anymore. My financial advisor quoted £150 for a policy yesterday and on comparison websites there's this message "Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are currently unable to offer comparison for Unemployment cover as some of our insurance providers are unable to provide cover. However, we are still able to offer comparison for Accident and Sickness cover."
How can the insurance companies get away with this ?

Quite easily, why would they offer cover for something that is almost a certainty.

Many insurers for different things stopped offering new policies some time ago.!
