South Western Railway Season Ticket Refund - Advice Please
Apols if this is not the right place, I'm looking for the hive minds solid advice. I've been trying to search on this but can't find anything. Currently I have begun a dispute via the Railway Ombudsman with SWR about a refund on my annual season ticket (Woking-London Waterloo, cost £3348). At no point have SWR emailed…

Compensation for faulty bike
Hi there, i dont really know what to think of this myself so thought id get second opinion. I bought a bike from a really bad bike shop, the bike was faulty so i took it back to get fixed. After 15 trips to the shop and countless arguments i threatened legal action to which they said they would refund me as they had the…

Bicycle Dash Cam
Hi MSEers. Can anyone recommend a decent (and decently priced) bicycle dash cam? I mostly ride in the day so while night use would be helpful it's probably the compromise I'm happiest to make.

Halfords cycle service
After a bit of advice. I had my bike serviced by Halfords in June/July. I took it in as I had a couple of issues that I wanted fixing. Firstly, the rear breaks… When used, the left brake pad wouldn’t retract to its starting position and would gently rub on the rim of the wheelSecondly, the bottom bracket needed replacing…

Government Voucher scheme - servicing included?
As per the title really, my booking is for tomorrow but I'm having last minute doubts... I booked quickly when it was first announced. My road bike is fairly up together I think, just needs a good service. Plus, looking at their prices on their website I would literally never buy even an inner tube there! So even with the…

Super Off Peak Rail Tickets
Is there a clear/easy way to find out which services are valid for the return journey on a super off peak ticket? The trainline website says it varies depending on route/operator, and putting in journey details doesn't really make it obvious to me. I'm going from Manchester or Stockport to Norwich on a weekday. Thanks :-)

Halfords not taking responsibility of missing information in PDI form !
We had placed an online order for a bike and included bike build service too. When we had collected the bike, we were presented with a PDI form that was partially filled with missing Frame number from it. The frame number of the bike was part of the receipt, that was supposed to be filled by staff and signed for. Nither it…

Delay Repay - Paper Tickets
Hi everyone, Apologies if this has been asked before. I can see lots of posts about Delay Depay, but can't find one specifically asking this question. I was travelling back from Norwich to London on Saturday 15 August. My train was cancelled due to signal issues and so I only ended up arriving back in London approximately…

GPS for cyclist
I have been wondering about getting a gps for my bike. I have difficulty remembering new complicated routes and I like exploring London on my bike. OTH I don't want to spend a fortune and it is clearly possible to spend one. What sort of features do others think I should look for? What is essential? I don't want anything…

Looking to get a new bike
Hi all, I'm looking to get a new bike - it would be for relatively light use at weekends mainly and ideally should have a pannier so that I can attach a seat for my 11-month old baby (any recommendations for those too would be ideal!). I'm not sure on budget since it's been a while since I got a bike (probably around 15…

Railcards - can we use them?
My family has railcards (Senior and student). At the start of Lockdown we clearly couldn't use them. As lockdown eased we still haven't used them although other people probably have and the advice was don't travel by train if you can avoid it. At some point I was expecting new of a validity extension or partial refund.…

Bus driver and mobile phone.
A mate of mine lives opposite a bus stop. One particular driver always stops there early in the morning and proceeds to chat for ages (very loudly) on his speakerphone to his boss/mate. This disturbs my friend and when he tackled the driver he was told he has to talk on the speakerphone as the electrical charging system is…

No advance rail fares any more?
I know the govt has taken over the franchises but are there no more advance fares now? I used to be able to get from Crewe to Edinburgh 1st class return for about £60, now the standard class is about £150. I almost used to enjoy the many and varied ways to find the cheapest (or nearly the cheapest) tickets!

Cheapest Train Tickets
Hey guys, whilst it is easy to search plenty of sites for a train ticket on a specific day, is it possible to search for the cheapest train tickets for any date over the next 12 weeks? At the moment I would have to search each and every day separately to find the best price. I don't mind which day or date I travel on, just…

Mountain bike that can be used by 5'3 and 5'11 riders?
I was looking for some advice before i start visiting bike shops. I'm looking to get a new mountain bike for off-road stuff (I've got a hybrid for road use), and a bike for my wife to use with me. From a cost and space saving it seems like getting a bike that we can both use would be ideal, since I don't mind adjusting it…
