Cycle 2 work scheme Hire Agreement
I agreed to a salary sacrifice for the cycle to work scheme but shortly after, I was offered a job with a new employer and resigned before I signed the C2W Hire Agreement. I’ve already had 3 months of deductions from my payroll but haven’t redeemed my Letter of Collection and as I say, haven’t signed the Hire Agreement. My…

Storing bike in a shed - rust?
I don't have the luxury of storing the bike in the house. I know some folk have bike rooms and can hang their bikes on a wall inside a chosen room in their house but for me the only option is in the wooden shed outside. There's no room in the house. For the first weekend in what seems like forever I made the most of a…

Around the world - On a Unicycle!
Hello fellow cyclists. During one of my internet meandirings, I came across this bloke (well, a kid really I think he was 19 when he started his adventure. Ed Pratt - Cycled around the world on a Unicycle. 22,000 miles and took 3 years. He shot video of this epic journey, and I spent too many hours watching them. Hats off…

Road cycle overshoes
So I've taken the plunge and gone clipless, nice looking shoes, as spring seems a way off , I decided to get some overshoes. I got some RR500 from Decathalon, they fit over the shoes snug enough, the problem is trying to zip them up! (I already have chicken legs) but the neoprene stuff doesn't seem to stretch (I can't even…

Cycle clothing that will wick sweat away?
Halfords says the “important thing is to wear clothing that will wick sweat away, not leave damp fabric close to your body”, but doesn’t give any suggestions for the type of material or products! Anyone have suggestions?

Zwift on the cheap?
I say Zwift, maybe there's alternatives, I just mention it as that's the one I've heard about. With gyms shut down and no signs of reopening any time soon, i've just been using a basic turbo trainer that has been loaned to us. I don't think there's anything fancy about it. Rather than just being in the back room staring…

£10 Admin fee for refunding tickets bought in advance

Unused rail travel vouchers
Apologies of this has been asked elsewhere and I haven't spotted it.I have £50-£100 of rail vouchers after a couple of long journeys were delayed in February/March last year. I'm usually a regular train traveller but since then I've barely been on a train and haven't used the vouchers. I'm wondering whether these can be…

Train two times a week
Not sure if this is the right place for this... I’ve been offered a new job which will be 3 days working from home and 2 in the office in London (post lockdown!) I live about 2 hours from the office door to door, so am thinking of doing my two days consecutively and staying overnight. My two questions are: 1) is there a…

What do I do if a pedestrian steps out in front of me and I'm in one of these new cycle lanes?
So in London at least there are now loads of new cycle lanes separated from the rest of the road by plastic bollards/wands. I cycle a lot and it's not at all rare for a pedestrian to step out in front of me because they're looking at their smartphone and think they can hear any traffic coming (which they can't). But I've…

Are all bus companies required by law to carry under aged no matter what?
If so, I understand it'll be 'duty of care' coming into play, or is it down to individual bus companies polices? I understand bus companies are at liberty to ban who they like from traveling with them and individual bus drivers can order people off the bus that they are driving, however is there some 'duty of care' under…

Please suggest some good quality, bright Cycle Lights and also some warm cycling gloves.
Hi all I recently bought a new bike and took it out for the first time yesterday. I was really thrilled with it. So thrilled that I forgot that the dark was coming in and in the end I had to cycle some of the way home in the dusk. My fault only that I left myself in this position WITHOUT lights therefore, I cannot be in…

MSE News: Rail fares in England and Wales to rise by more than expected next year
The price of train season tickets and many other rail fares in England will increase by more than inflation for the first time in eight years in 2021, with passengers facing a rise of up to 2.6% - and those in Wales face a similar jump. But the hikes have been delayed from January to March, so you've still two months to…

Bryton cycle computers?
Anybody reading this have one? I was holding out for a Wahoo Elemnt Roam coming on offer on Black Friday and while the Sonos Beam came good for me, the Wahoo didn't. Spending a bit of time looking in to cycle computers and some of these Bryton units grabbed my attention. Looking at reviews on YouTube of various units i'm…

Amongst all the charges on the way on holiday base fare £1.40; distance £16.74; time £1.71; distance surcharge £1.57; wait time £0.42. There was a £2 charge for pick up and drop off at Birmingham airport. This was…

Brake rub - rim brakes
Never really been in to cycling before until this year really so have never tinkered with bikes until now. I noticed that my rear brakes were starting to rub on the rim on one side. As you look at the rear of the bike it'd be the right hand side pad. I'll move them so that each pad is equal distance from the rim but in no…
