Which Windsor train station for Theatre Royal Windsor

In the next few weeks I wish to attend the Theatre Royal at Windsor with my 18yo from our Yorkshire home.We will be using a Two together railcard and attending a matinee performance. Looking at the theatre's website it says it's near to both Windsor Central and Windsor Riverside stations. The journey will involve a few changes anyway and the cost is the same. Is there any advantage in choosing one station over the other to get to the theatre?

Windsor & Eton Riverside is served by direct trains from Waterloo - these are slower but you don't need to change trains
Windsor & Eton Central is at the end of a branch line from Slough - from central London, this route via Paddington is quicker, but involves a change of trains.
Are you travelling via central London? Or on a Cross-Country train via Reading?
Windsor town centre is small enough that it doesn't matter which station you arrive at - it really depends where you are coming from that determines which route makes sense, and/or your preferences when it comes to changing trains.testing 1230 -

OR
For Riverside. LKC to Vauxhall. Vauxhall to Riverside.
If there's nothing in it in distance to the theatre and price, then the train changes and length of journey will be the decider.

Coming via London it is far easier to get the Waterloo or Vauxhall to Riverside direct train. The theatre is marginally nearer to Windsor Central but it is only a few hundred yards walk anyway. Are you staying the night in Windsor when the location of the hotel may be more important?

You'll lose maybe 15 min on the extra connection at Slough, whereas the walk will take you an extra 5 mins from Riverside.

Since it is only an 8 minute walk between the two stations, I should select your arrival point based on the most convenient departure point from Central London. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
