Sponge cake problems
Many years ago I made my sponge cakes in my food mixer and they always came out perfect. I then got myself a k mix. Around the same time I got a new oven and could never decide which it was that made my cakes come out nothing like they did in my old food mixer. It's still very hit and miss how my cakes come out. Home & Freezer Digest Christmas Cake Recipe
Hi all, I am in desperate need of a Mary Berry Christmas cake recipe from the Home & Freezer Digest in the late 1970s. It included a can of pineapple rings. I have made this cake every year since published & now I cannot find it. I know it's late in the year but if anyone has the recipe & could share it, I would be so…

STERADENT
I suppose Sterradent is perhaps the most well known Denture cleaner, but it is expensive. Is there a more economical brand which does the same thing, better still is there a home made recipe whic I assume would cause far less ? while talking about dentures what's the best way to remove that awful paste from the denture

Weekly Flylady Thread 15 July 2024
Welcome to the weekly Flylady Thread. What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole…

Morning allUp and out early today as we're going to visit Buckingham Palace. Had a nice evening celebrating a 40th birthday last night except, and I know I shouldn't complain, but the air con worked VERY well at the venue and after a nice warm day in the garden I was freezing. Good morning, it's a fine start here, yesterday was a lovely warmish day as well. Dil's mum was going to come over, but couldn't make it after all, so we'll reschedule. She wasn't feeling very well. We spent a bit of time tidying outside, Dh cut the hedge, it was starting to look a bit straggly, and I weeded and swept up.…
