Good morning
Thank you for the start Scarlet
Hope all goes well for your DH Chrisca
Sunny day so I'll try and get a few bits done in the garden.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning folks. Another lovely start and I hope it stays that way, unlike yesterday when the wind returned.
I had a phonecall from DD (still on the I of W) about the previous day's drama. They, and a lot of the group, had gone to the waterpark where eldest dgd managed to break her ankle. They were most of the day at A &E for scans etc. Finally left with a big pot on, on crutches. DD and other dgds are there another week but eldest going home today with BFF of mum. It's her 21st on Monday with lots of celebrations planned - now all cancelled. She will.be staying with her bf and his family till.mobile again. Notes and scans will be sent to their nearest hospital for follow up.
A day of same old same old here at the van. Maybe today I will be able to sit out reading without getting blown away!
Have a good day folks if you can. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning again, fine and windy here.
So sorry to hear about your granddaughter breaking her ankle TA, what a blow.
I'm going to dash off, my shopping delivery van has just pulled up, back later.9 -
Hi all
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Chrisca -Hope all goes well for DH
Another sunny one here - 30C+ forecast for the next week, again! I have ditched the idea of going away for a few days - too hot to walk or enjoy anything at that temperature. Will just plod on with my Christmas craft preparation.Forgot to say we had four sheep in the garden on Thursday morning - and looks like they escaped again as just seen them wandering up the track. They’ve just visited again - managed to help someone get them into a field. Well that’s today’s entertainment over!
take care all

Morning all - after a very rainy overnight and early start the sky is now beginning to clear the clouds and there's patches of blue. Today's the local country show so I hope that the day stays fine for it.My meeting with the Provost and others went really well yesterday. The charity I volunteer with needs money and lost out on a grant recently. Happily we'll have that money soon and help to attract more. We all came away feeling rather more positive than recently.I had planned to do a shopping expedition this morning and now decided that I don't need to. I've taken a portion of casserole out of the freezer to have with mash and veg. And there's more in the freezer to eat up.So sorry about your DGD @TA - what a blow for her, and cancelling her birthday festivities is awful too. 💕 Glad that you have hot water again.Best wishes for your OH @Chrisca - hope that the procedure goes well and he's soon home.I enjoyed reading about your adventures with little one @DP1. Mind you, five hours is a long time, well done to you both!I hope that all the poorlies are healing and the sads find some peace. Hugs to all.11

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
It was pouring down when I got up but is lovely and sunny now and the wind has dropped at last. Yesterday dried up and the washing was dry in half an hour as it was very windy!
Lunch with friends was good, lovely having them here for a good chat and catch up. I went over the road to friends later in the day and had dinner with them, lovely day.
Hope all goes well for your DH Chrisca.
Probably a good call Allie if it's going to be hot.
Oh no TA, hope it's a quick recovery for your DGD.
Must go and plant the Christmas potatoes before it's too late, apart from that nothing else planned for today, I have enough leftovers from yesterday to keep me going for a couple of days.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX9 -
Morning all and thanks @Scarlet for today's start. It's a bright, sunny start to the day with showers possible around late morning/early afternoon, then back to sunshine. Top temps 20 deg but dropping to a cool 10 deg overnight.
Yesterday I dropped off two pairs of glasses at Specsavers for recycling before my retinal screening appointment. All done and dusted, just waiting for the results now in 2-3 weeks' time. Hopefully, I'll be classed as low risk as in previous years. I wasn't tempted to have a wander around the city centre either - it's changed so much and is full of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, sandwich shops etc.
I called in at the Co-op on my way home for a few bits and pieces, mainly fruit and fresh milk. I also bought some clearance items with long BB dates - two jars of tomato & chilli chutney for 79p a jar (normally £3.35) and a tin of grapefruit segments for 49p (usually £1.80).
DS rang after I got home to say he'd made use of a jigsaw I'd passed on to him to make a set of shelves and also had plumbed in their new WM. My MSE ways must be rubbing off on him as the wood for the shelves came from a bin of off-cuts in the DIY store. He and his good lady are currently on their way to London for a weekend stay with some of her family.
Today I'm playing catch-up with the weekly admin that I didn't get done yesterday, want to make a batch of banana & chocolate chip muffins and do a few light jobs around the house. I've no idea what's for tea tonight but I'm sure I'll find something.
@Chrisca - Best wishes to your DH, I hope his procedure today goes well and that he'll be back home soon.
@TA - So sorry to hear about your DGD's broken ankle; what a shame her birthday celebrations have had to be cancelled. Glad you've got hot water again though!
@AA - It seems strange to be talking about Christmas crafts in August but it will be here before we know it so early prep can only be a good thing.
@Gers - Well done on a positive meeting, I hope the charity funds arrive soon.
Have a good weekend, healing thoughts for the poorly ones and best wishes for peace for the stressed or worried. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
