This boils down to my word against theirs.. so I don't stand a chance but will share my experience here. My ev car went back to Lex in September a year early having spent 3 ½ months at Kia gathering dust and bird crap waiting for a new battery. (Which never came) BCA collected the car from Kia late September. Lex agreed to…

After a quick search of the forums I see there are a few of these popping up, mine is a very similar story and just looking for some advice on how to handle. 7 weeks ago it’s alleged I visited a Sainsbury’s petrol station and didn’t pay for my fuel. I remember the date fairly well as is the day we went on holiday, but…

New MOT/service before part exchanging car
So I'm looking to part exchange my current car, MOT and annual service run out in about 3 months time. I know the webuyany derivatives say that if a car has less than 6 months MOT on it then the price will be affected, don't really want to go to the hassle of selling it privately having horrendous previous experiences so…

Warranty Claim - 72 reg car
Hi, I bought a car back in April / May which is a 72 plate Nissan. We hit upon some gloriously warm months after purchasing the car so didn't use the heaters in the car. Now it's getting colder, and I'm trying to use the heaters, they intermittently warm up. I've just done a 30 minute journey and it took until 25 minutes…

Driving other cars, third party cover
I thought is was standard for motor policies to give third party cover for driving other vehicles, but today two companies (GoSkippy and Vavista) have said they do not give this cover. Has this changed in recent years - is it becoming standard not to provide this cover?

Alternative Vehicle Tracker than Scorpion - Recommendations please
Hi all Please can you tell me if there is an alternative Tracker to the Scorpion ones, that work as well. Scorpions customer service has been shocking since the start of the year. Unfortunately, my company insurance says that having a tracker on my car is mandatory, so I must have a tracker. Thanks all

Gave up licence for health reasons: Do we need to switch the registered keeper?
My husband is the registered keeper of a car we both drive. He's had to surrender his licence for health reasons so from now on I will be the only driver. Is it necessary/beneficial for us to transfer the car to me as registered keeper? I can't find the exact answer to this anywhere. From what I can see there's no…

ID this classic car jack?!
Tidying my garage, and came across this jack. Doing my crunch trying to work out what it's for! Very distinctive 'pawl' that engages with the vehicle - it can surely only suit one model? Operated via a 19mm nut on the side at the top. Put me out of my misery, pleeeez.

Used car fault reported after 2 weeks but not fixed after 3 months. What are my rights

Faulty tire rejected for warranty
I purchased a tyre from a big company who fitted it in Feb. It had a slow leak but I'd not had time to take it back to the shop to sort and I also thought it would settle as it could have not seated fully and would resolve itself. However it was getting to the point of where it would loose 2-3psi a day. I finally had time…

Best insurance companies for driver with cancelled insurance
Hi. About 12 years ago I received a letter on the last day of a car insurance policy telling me it had been cancelled. The reason behind it was I had told them about a change of address and then because of lack of money/stupidity I hadn’t paid the ridiculous fee they charged for changing my details. I haven’t driven for a…

Bank details for deposit
I’m paying a small deposit to secure a vehicle I’m buying from a private seller. He has provided his Bank name, a/c no & sort code and his first name only. Is this usual & nothing to be concerned about? As an aside, I seem to remember reading a recent post on here re: names no longer appearing on V5N’s (log book). Perhaps…
