Changing photo on driving licence
Hi all, I am trying to update my photo on my driving licence as it's an old photo and looks nothing like me which really should have been changed ages ago. I've not been sent a renewal letter yet as I think that's due 2027. I don't have a passport. I have a D1 form and I've taken a new photo but what I was wondering is do…

Low mileage diesel, need to drain annual addblue tank??
Asking for a friend who has recently got a Wheelchair Access Citren Berlingo diesel with an addblue tank. They are not planning to do many miles a year, (possibly only 2k). After doing some research I understand that the shelf life for Addblue is about 12 months. The Berlingo has a 17 litre tank that if filled will last…

Notice of Intended Prosecution - Variable Speed Limit
I recently received a speeding fine for apparently doing 46 mph in 40 mph zone on the M1 motorway. The variable speed limits changed throughout the journey, from the standard 70, to 60, 50, 40 and maybe even 30 ! I feel the constant speed limit changes throughout my journey was very mis-leading. From lower speeds to higher…

Lex auto car tax rules
I've an EV.. Martin mentioned last night about applying early for car tax so you get a free year from April when tax applies to EVs too, regardless of when it's due. I lease from Lex Auto. They won't tax it early, I asked them today, due to their 'rules'. That's a shame as anyone driving an electric leased car will miss…

Petrol differentials
What is a fair difference to pay for super unleaded petrol. The service stations advertise the price of ordinary unleaded but you don't know the price of super until you are at the pump. I've paid 7p extra at Tesco and 19p extra at Morrisons!

Took my car to the garage and now it won't start! What are my options?
Hi. An amber engine warning light started to appear on my car's dashboard around two months ago. It was functioning ok, although there were some noticeable issues with it 'kangarooing' when moving up the gears too quickly if I accelerated hard (it's an automatic). I decided to bring the MOT and service forward by a month…

Santander Consumer Finance for PCH - are they OK?
Hi, I am looking at getting a new car on Personal Contract Hire, and Santander Consumer Finance have given a really good quote - substantially cheaper than anyone else including the main dealers. I've just looked on Trustpilot though and they have lots of really bad reviews! They are part of the Santander group, so I can't…

Deposit refund and other issues on car purchase
A friend has got herself into a pickle with a local dealership and I would like to get some input as to her best way forward. She decided to look into changing her car (used and on finance) and went to the dealer to have a look at one. She liked it and after the calculations had been done decided she could afford it so did…

Serviceing stop. Untrustworthy or worse?
Beware made up additional costs and work Firstly, the collection of my car was delayed twice without notice due to issues at the repair garage, causing a two-day delay. On the third attempt, it was taken to a different garage. The full service was eventually completed, and after driving approximately 30 miles, the vehicle…

PCP end of lease charges
Hi, I’ve just handed my car back after 2 years and I’ve been charged £750 for some ridiculous things. £200 for a missing cable when I only recieved one cable when I got the car. £400 for ‘poor repairs’ I’ve never had the car repaired so how on earth can I be charged for this? Apparently a poor repay has lead to dulling or…

Electric Mini Aceman SE driver's seat - Help please
I'm sure when I finished the test drive in the demo Mini Aceman and went to open the door the driver's seat slid back so I could get out more easily with a warning to be aware of anyone in the back seat. Unfortunately, I cannot find out how to make my new Mini Aceman SE do this. Does anyone know what settings I need to…

Hybrid >40K vehicle tax
Hi, I'm assuming the recent video by ML about re-taxing your electric vehicle and saving one year on tax only applies to full electric and not hybrids?!
