Power of Attorney
I have been registered as Lasting Power of Attorney for my mum. It says on the letters that I should notify DWP and tax office. Is this with regards to my mum or for me. I get tax credits, but am I right in thinking being an LPA won't affect my benefits? TIA

Clean Break Order - Understanding the response from the Court
Hi, I've recently applied for a Clean Break Order. The Court has responded with the following: "There is no date set in the order for the payment of the lump sum and the transfer. I have a court granted occupation order against my ex partner. It has powers of arrest attached to it and is in place until our jointly owned home is sold. Does anyone know if this means sold subject to contract (or under offer) or whether it is until it’s sold properly, ie all legal contracts have been signed?

Tax free childcare - Nursery closed down
Hello everybody We pay our nursery fees in advance through the “tax free childcare” account. The nursery has ceased trading but owes us money (about £1k) which the director is refusing to refund. Are there any options to reclaim this? I was wondering about contacting the tax free childcare team or my bank? Thank you!

Care home fees - council funding after self funding runs out
Hi, hopefully this is the right place to post this. My father received a dementia diagnosis at the end of 2023. For a couple of years prior to this he gifted me the maximum amount of tax free gift (£3k). Once his ability to self fund has run out and he gets down to the £24k minimum, is this tax free gift able to be claimed…
