Asbestos removal
I'm trying to get a boiler replaced in our home. It has been detected that we have asbestos insulation board above our current boiler, which after testing amosite and chrysotile has been found. The aib is actually roughly 1m squared. I understand that asbestos is to be taken seriously. I've contacted a number of companies…

Moving Bathroom Roller Blind Lower to help Ventilation (with pic).
Just removed loads of mould off bathroom ceiling, sanded and painted 3 coats of mould resistant paint. Don't want to have to do it again for a long time. My family tend to take longish showers. The window is open, for privacy, the blind is rolled right down so barely any steam escapes and the walls can be dripping by the…

Home insurance cash settlement seems unfair
Hi, My parents had a pipe leak in the kitchen which ruined the floor. It’s an engineered wood floor (daft but was they were unaware at the time how unsuitable it was). To replace it like for like with the same brand would cost £4,850 for the materials alone but with a laminate floor it would be around £3,300 which they are…

Garage flat roof replacement
Hi all, only had 1 quote back so far. Garage is single storey detached double measuring 5.4m x 5.9m. It's leaking at the moment (only just moved in) and have been quoted £2200 to strip off current roof, replace boards and then double felt the whole roof using hot tar. Does that seem fair? Based in North East England.
