£3k to replace a roof valley?

I’ve just received a quote from a well-established roofer that I round on Checkatrade. He has almost 100 reviews with a very high rating.
I have to say, the quote really took me by surprise - £3k is much more than I was expecting! We were hoping to get another quote from a different Checkatrade roofer on the same day, but he didn’t show up.
Does this seem a fair quote? We’re in the south-west.

Having just had a semi fully reroofed for 8.5k with skip and scaffold included in South London - for me it’s very very over priced BUT various professionals and trades people on this site did tell me that quotes of 21k and 23k were actually reasonable despite the numbers not making sense to myself without a massive labour / margin element.
Ultimately it’s what he wants to do the job -
You’ve got a couple of things that you can get prices for such as renting a scaffold tower (arguably a professional may have their own if they use one regularly), packs of battens, the valley and an amount of tiles with the rest being labour and margin with that you can decide whether you consider it reasonable for what is a couple to three days work.

I’m thinking we probably need more quotes…0 -
Definitely get more quotes - at least three. Can you ask your neighbours for local recommendations? Or maybe there are some on Next Door that you can verify.I’m having some roof tiles replaced as well as some new felt and battens on one section, mortar, and lead work and small guttering section and that is coming in at 2k, but other quotes came in at £6200 and almost 5k but that was for reroofing that small section rather than just replacing the damaged tiles and the other bits, which is all I wanted.0
