Does £2900+vat sound about right for a structural engineer to make a site visit and draw up specifications for structure and foundations of a 2 storey extention following architects plans.

It might not be far off. I’ve just paid £1,600+vat for the calcs on 2 lumps of steel and a roof design.
It was more than I was expecting - but I stuggled to find anyone interested in doing it.1
