Repair fees

Options
On June the 3rd 2022 my partner was on a night out and she started acting out of character has no recollection of the events that took place which leads us to believe she was spiked, she ended up damaging a window which turned out to be a police museum window …. She got arrested and charged with no criminal record just had to pay a 900 pound fine nearly a year later when the fine is nearly paid she has received a letter stating that she needs to pay £7636 back to the insurers… she was not at crown court she was at magistrates and it was the first time she has been in trouble with the police… the company the letter is from is called Gallagher Bassett. Any advice on what to do as I’m sure the window and court fees included surely would not come to the total of £7636.
