Replacement consumer unit and testing
We want an overview of our aged electrics and asked a couple of electricians to quote for testing and potential work. Both said the consumer unit has no RCD protection and needs replacing so they would quote for that at the same time. Only one has quoted (after chasing for 2 months) and it is more than we had expected but…

Currently looking to get a new kitchen and looking for some advice! Initially got a quote from Wickes which was about £9000 for the kitchen itself and £5000 for installation (with their in house installation service). Then I got a quote from Magnet which was £8000 for the kitchen. She gave me the details of some fitters…

Hello! Tldr: £1,500 for a replacement gullie (old one was clay), including lifting and replacing some paving slabs. Small bathroom housebarrassment installation quote £5000?
We live in one of those smallish 1960s 3 bed semis where the 3rd bedroom is a bit bigger than a box room, but not by much. If you know what these are like, that should give you an idea of the bathroom. Small. A large, national DIY store that offers to cure us of housebarrassment quoted us about £2500 for the new suite and…

Hi, we had an offer accepted on a house and had a rough estimate for the following: 6.5x6.5m2 extension (we actually would not make it this big but for the sake of the quote it’s useful to go by this) - would involve knocking down current garden room which is very small with a low ceiling. convert current kitchen to a…
