Repointing job - £3700?

Quote to repoint front of 1930s semi detached and patch up side.  Includes repair and replacement of a couple of broken bricks and some minor painting of purlin ends.

£3700?  Told it will take 5-7 days.

    depends where you live, but hard to say without pics or more info....  2 men 7 days at £180 each, £120 for materials

    A 1930s building will have (probably) used lime mortar which is fairly soft. Unless it has been repointed with cement at any stage, it means you can use hand tools to rake out the joints pretty quick. Just don't let them use an angle grinder - It makes a lot of mess and is way too easy to damage the bricks.
