Roofing & Guttering repairs

Normally when assessing a quotes I try to get three of them to compare, but my luck with local roofers this week has been abysmal. Of the five I contacted, three responded with interest and a promise to visit but only one turned up despite them all saying they would (and me waiting in for them). The one that did show quoted me £1100 to replace a 9 metre length of guttering & attached downpipe, replace the ridge tiles along the apex of my chalet-style house and put on a new bit of PVC protection (~1.5 metre x 50cm) over a bay window. Seems high but what do Forumites think?
