£1,400 to desludge and service sewage treatment plant

Received the following quote:

• Supply Jet Vacuumation Unit for a desludge/ cleanout £ 682.00 •
Waste Disposal at a licensed site £ 333.75 •
Provision for field service engineer to assist with cleanout, provide access and service the station £ 392.00
Total Price (Excl VAT) £ 1,407.75

£1,400 + VAT seems extortionate but it's only been a year since the plant was installed so we have not needed to have this done previously so don't have anything to benchmark against!

Seems a bit steep. We have our treatment plant emptied twice a year for £150 a time (it serves two properties). No 'desludging' though - does it need that?

That seems quite a lot. What area of the country do you live in ? our annual cost (East Anglia ) is £280 pump out & desludge, £180 for service (any parts needed would be on top of that)
