Reserved seats not honored
Hello, Myself and my partner booked and paid extra for reserved seats on a trip to the USA recently but when we received our boarding passes we did not have the seats we reserved but were sat with the rest of our travelling party, which was not a huge issue but we paid for window seats elsewhere on the aircraft and did not…

Buying USD
I’m off on holiday to the states at the end of November. Does anyone think it could be worth buying USD now in advance before any kind of brexit possibility of making the GBP drop again.

BA/Tui flights
I know it's not an exact science but would I be right in thinking that flights would be cheapest when they're first released, or when BA have a sale? I'm looking for flights to Mexico, in premium economy/WTP in october 2020. Tui already have flights showing for the date but they're really expensive. Thanks for any advice.

U.K. to USA multi stop flights - suitcase
Small query I am flying to DFW for a few days, then flying up to Chicago for more days, flying home from there. LHR/DFW and ORD/LHR are fine for suitcase going in the hold for free but I think DFW/ORD will need paying for to go in the hold, if it does, I’d like to pay upfront, rather than bother at the airport but was not…

Faro car hire
Any recommendations or warnings for Faro car hire companies? Want to collect the car from the terminus (not shuttle bus) and take it to Spain for a couple of days too. I'd prefer to pay more rather than get stuffed by the small print or end up with an old banger. Any advice would be very gratefully appreciated!! Thank you!

BA Codeshare with AA?
OK, if I book a flight on BA website, its coming up as an American Airlines booking, albeit on a BA flight anyway. Will I then have, in effect, booked with AA? i.e. any customer service issues I need to speak to AA not BA? Reason is wife has mobility issues and BA are usually very good at sorting out seat assignments. Not…

French car hire breathalyser and Ryan Air hand-luggage size.
Hi there. I am off to France at the end of the week and have a few last minute questions: 1. I have booked a hire car for the trip, with easyCar.com. There are a few odd rules about driving in France, including the need for a breathalyser, hi-vis jackets and spare bulbs etc. Would you expect these to be provided or would I…

Flight change to day before - no offer to cancel and rebook different flights!
Hi. I booked flights for myself and two others for a holiday using the website "travelup". The flights are BA flights at the end of November. Unfortunately BA have cancelled the flight and there is now a new flight but going the day before. Not only do we not have accommodation for that extra night but we have also booked…

Best Credit or Prepaid Card for Japan
Hi My husband is travelling to Japan in a couple of months. He has a Halifax Clarity Credit Card which we use when we are away and was going to use it there. One of his colleagues has told him he would be better using WeSwap and the other person travelling with him will be using Revolut. Having looked online I'm not sure…

Hire car fuel - caught out?
We hired a car in Mallorca with the fuel clause as full to full. When we picked up the car we checked everything, took photos of scratches etc. But didn’t notice that the tank was only a quarter full. Feeling very silly at present. The paperwork supplied by the hire company says the tank is full at pickup. We have left a…

Turkish Airlines - any good?
We have booked our hotel for a week's holiday in Antalya, Turkey and currently looking for flights. Most of the flights are either really late at night going out or morning hours coming back, so we would effectively lose 2 days of our holiday. We have found reasonable flight times with Turkish Airlines, and will be paying…

Austria September 2020 - When to book flights and car hire?
I'm new to booking flights and car hire. I've only ever been abroad twice and both times were package holidays. My mum and I are going to Sportcamp Woferlgut through Eurocamp. So far, we have booked the caravan for Septmeber 2020 for 2 weeks. It's a long way off yet but as we are a low income family, we've had to book so…

Euros - when to convert
We had to cancel a holiday to Estonia early this year, for which I had stockpiled some Euros. I'm thinking about reconverting them to pounds, but at the current exchange rate I'm around £50 down. Should I exchange the euros now or wait? I know nothing of exchange rates really, but at a wild guess I would say that if we…

Ryanair automatically increasing fare during booking process
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the following problem? I booked a Ryanair flight on 4/7/19 and noticed that the initial fare had increased when it was added to the basket. This has never happened before and I have booked hundreds of flights with Ryanair. To satisfy my curiosity I decided to go through the…

1 euro for £1.23 via a 'moneycorp' foreign currency atm at Stansted?
Ok now you've all nearly died laughing...yes I did fall into the trap of confirming acceptance of this rate, and paid £197.90 for €160 on 18th June. I didnt believe pigs could fly when I saw the rate in front of me, so quickly and almost on auto pilot while in transit I assumed I must have got the exchange rate the wrong…
