Rented airbnb car unsafe to drive, causing scrape damage
Hi, my pal rented a car through airbnb. We are in Spain. From the first, the car has been stalling in 1st and 2nd gear... My pal thought she simply wasn't driving well due to not being used to it. We drove up a large mountain. At the top, the car was stalling more, maybe due to thinner atmosphere? The engine management…

Car Rental Northern Ireland
Be aware of cross border charges. These must be unlawful? Most rental companies charge you at the desk and sneakily ask where you are travelling to and try to decipher if you are crossing the border into Southern Ireland.Usually an extra charge per day, they say for insurance purposes! Any advise fellow MSEs?

Easyjet Hands Free with Three trick
If you are with Three you get Hands Free which means you can check your Hand Luggage for free at check in. You also get speedy boarding. Trick is they don’t do any further checks so you can still take another piece of hand luggage with you on the flight.

Travel agent margins: what is reasonable?
One of those "what do you think" questions... We all know that travel agents have to get paid, and their wages, office costs and so forth come from the passenger. I suppose that usually they get a percentage of the flights and hotels and so forth that they sell, and we never really know how much. And so long as they add…

Saying flight is cancelled, but its not??
Hi, I have flights booked for Friday travelling from London city - Milan - Rome - Tokyo The Milan - Rome flight changed last month as it was cancelled, so they sorted out the same flight but different time, which was fine. Last night I got another email saying that the flights have now been cancelled and I am now flying on…

Last minute car rental cancellation policy
Hi, I recently booked a flight + hotel package on lastminute.com. On the last page just before payment I had the option to rental a car. It is marked as free cancellation and I also checked the terms and conditions just below the car rental section: Later I realised I could book the same car elsewhere with a no excess…

We are hiring with Enterprise and at £19 a day for their excess coverage definately want a stand alone. Only one driver if that makes a difference. We…

Best way of having spending money in Argentina?
My wife and I are off to Argentina for Xmas and the New Year (31 days in total). I've been doing some research into the best way of having our spending money out there, but just want to see if anyone has any tips? Our day-to-day banking is with Monzo these days. However, their travel rates are a pain, since they charge 3%…

Changed email address but airline sent details about scheduled change to old email address
Hi, I am hoping someone might be able to advise me about this situation. I booked a Ryanair flight with an email address that I became locked out of. I changed my email with Ryanair months before my flight with them. However, they did not email my new email address but my old one which meant I wasn't made aware that the…

AVIOS points for M+S food on British Airways
Hi all I recently booked a flight with British Airways. I've never flown with them before. I was awarded 478 Avios points and 15 Tier points... I largely ignored these at the time of booking thinking they wouldn't be worth worrying about. But I'm just wondering now if I might be able to use them for food onboaord, or even…

GBP - Euro before or after next PM?
I am going away in August and the pound is currently very low, I'm wondering if should I buy Euros now or after the next Prime Minister is revealed on July 23rd? I know its a bit of a crystal ball situation and the pound will probably stay weak until Brexit but I have read that if Boris wins (Brexiteer) the pound "may"…

$120 to return lost phone
Some time ago I read about rail companies and airlines charging people for the return of lost item. I recently flew with Air Canada, from Las Vegas to Montreal and then from Montreal to Heathrow. When I got to Montreal I went through immigration and security and then realised I'd left my phone in the seat pocket in front…

American Express Travel (agency)
I've spotted that American Express has their own travel agency, and, though I wouldn't consider it if self-directed bookings were significantly cheaper, I like that I earn 3x as many points for any spend through their agency. All information I find on Google is America-focused; is there anyone here (UK-based) who has had…

Alkaline AA batteries on flight
Hi. Apologies if this has been asked recently. I did a quick search, but wasn't able to find much info. I'm flying from Birmingham with Jet2 next week and have a question about Alkaline AA batteries. I have looked online, but I am finding it a tad hard to understand the regulations. Last time I went on a plane was about 7…

BA/Tui flights
I know it's not an exact science but would I be right in thinking that flights would be cheapest when they're first released, or when BA have a sale? I'm looking for flights to Mexico, in premium economy/WTP in october 2020. Tui already have flights showing for the date but they're really expensive. Thanks for any advice.
