Not pre booked seats with Thomas Cook
We’ve always paid the extra to reserve seating on our flights to Greece, but what happens if we don’t? (We are wanting to money save for a change) If we get to the airport early enough to check in, can we ask to be sat together, or is there a high chance we could be sat completely separate?

Car Rental - What do I need?
I'm going to Spain on Friday and have decided this year - I'm not going to be screwed over by the ridiculous insurances and excess charges that they make you take out. I've made a rental with gold car on their cheapest deal and I'm not going to take out any of the extras that they insist you need. This is what they have…

Ryanair Receipt
I paid for a few seats the day before my flight on Ryanair last week. I need a receipt for expenses. I didn't get an email confirmation of the selection of paid seats. Where can I get something saying I bought them?

Car Hire Canaries - insurance
Good Morning I thought I had found a good deal regarding car hire in Lanzarote But when I clicked through to purchase the deal it came up with the following clause. Collision/Loss Damage Waiver, Theft Protection and Additional Liability Insurance are excluded from the rental but will be available, if required, to purchase…

Protection when booking holiday separate
Started planning for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disneyworld in Florida Got a price through the travel agent which was extortionate! Decided to look through ourselves and have booked it all separate i.e flights with Thomas Cook, rooms and tickets with Disney - saved 4K in total The travel agent has now got me worried…

Do not use niza car hire malaga
Heads up!!! as a regular overseas tvaeller and after many years of trouble free car hire I have finally been scammed by NIZA CARS at Malaga Airport who are trying to charge me 200 euros for a small make on a passenger door handle that I did not cause. Left over holiday money
I have about $1,000 left over from a holiday from USA. Don't think I'll be returning for quite a long time, what's the best way to change it back to £ Sterling. Would a local post office or bank be able to change the money and if so how reasonable would the rates be?

Aeroflot Missed connection extortion
Hello All, So, I had the recent unfortunate experience of flying Aeroflot with my young family, Flying London-Moscow-Ufa to go visit family for a few weeks. Book a through-ticket for entire journey (single reservation code), direct with Aeroflot, and a transfer window of 1.5 hours…

Car Hire abroad
I have been told that I need a credit card to hire a car abroad on holiday. Is this true? If it is it means I wont be able to hire one as I don't have and don't want a credit card.

BA Avios missing
For the last two quarters my Tesco Clubcard points which I redeem for BA Avios have not gone to my BA Executive Account (which replaced the old Avios account). I phoned Tesco Clubcard and they say they need my BA Executive Account number before they can transfer redeemed points to it. I mistakenly thought that they would…

Car Hire USA
This is our scenario: Travelling to USA in July to visit family and need to hire 7 seater vehicle. Driver could be a resident of USA, with USA driver's licence. One family member travelling with us is American, now living in UK, and holds GB and USA drivers licences. Everything is looking very expensive and I'm just…

International driving permit
We're off to France in June and have hired a car on arrival. As I understand it there's no need for an IDP until we leave the EU which is probably not for several months. If we do leave there may be a need for an IDP but probably not if we get a deal. Just wondered if others thoughts my understanding was correct and…

When to convert my currency to JPY
Hi! I am planning a trip to Japan for fall 2020, and obviously this will be after the Summer Olympics takes place. Will this event, and the possible surge in tourism, affect the rate of the Japanese Yen? I will be converting GBP to JPY and wondered if you think it would be better to convert my money before any change…

Car hire taking deposit, not blocking??
Hi there I’m going on holiday in a few weeks to Malaga and have a car for 12 days. Got car hire really cheap through Goldcar (I know these get a bad rep, but I used them last year without a hiccup). I’ve also taken out separate insurance as through them it was ridiculous. The only thing that they did do last year, was…

Cabin bag Ryanair
Noticed that Ryanair quote cabin bag size as 55x40x20. Normally we fly with BA where I notice the sizes are 56x45x25 so a little bigger. Not measured the size of our cabin bags but, obviously, I don't want to rock up at the airport and find out I've got to cough up and extra £50 per bag because the cabin bag is 5cm too…

easyJet one way hold baggage question
I only want a hold bag on the return leg, and easyJet's website says I can't book that online, so I'll call them. I understand however that telephone bookings are charged a premium over online bookings so my question is will the premium outweigh the cost of booking a bag online for the round trip but not taking one on the…

Borrowing a family mambers car in Spain
My son-in-law has a car I can borrow whilst I'm in Ibiza. He has it fully comprehensive for anyone over 25 but that carries a 500 Euro excess. Collision damage waiver policies only cover cars rented from a car hire company so does anyone know if its possible to buy this sort of cover for this particular usage? Thanks
