Dollars to Euros
I have a surplus of dollars I no longer need and an imminent trip to Europe. What would be the best way to convert these ? Usually get my currency from Sainsburys, should I take them in and get them to exchange or would I be better changing them at the Airport on arrival in Spain ?

British Airways Extra leg room seats
In April 2018 I booked for my wife and myself to fly to Grand Cayman with B. A. in November 2018. The schedule was Manchester to Heathrow then Heathrow to Grand Cayman and return flights 14 days later so 8 seats in total. At the time of booking I checked emergency exit seats were available for extra legroom on all flights…

Simple list linking banks?
Is there a list anywhere which tells you which banks are linked to which? I am aware that the first £85,000 of any money in a bank is protected by the FSA if the bank collapses. However if you were lucky enough to have £85,000 in NatWest and another £85,000 in the Royal Bank of Scotland, because these banks are all part of…

US cash machine fees
I'm travelling to Florida shortly, and taking my Halifax Clarity card, to withdraw cash from ATM's. There is no charge (other than daily interest) from Halifax, although I've heard that US ATM's often charge for cash withdrawals. Anyone have any experience of this, or how to avoid the fees?

Advice please re Son travelling to USA
Hi there, my son is going out to USA in June for a year's internship. He won't get paid for first few weeks, how is it best for me to send him out with enough money to keep him going to live on? I expect it will be expensive to use his debit card out there to access funds! Any advice gratefully received.

Good seats free
Hi everyone Here's a great way to get the best seats on budget airlines without paying, if you are willing to spend the time and effort. Before you check in, start the process of booking a ticket for that flight. Repeat this many times (in different windows), each time choosing the seats you don't want. (Remember, you can…

Cards/cash in Channel Is (Jersey)
We are shortly going to Jersey and was reading conflicting info regarding ATMs and card charges. We bank with Santander and TSB, I saw a thread mentioning NatWest regarding the Channel Is as foreign and charging for card use, but nothing specific about other banks. I understand Channel Is currency isn’t legal tender in…

This can’t be right surely!?
I’m using the usual search engines (Kayak etc) to find car hire in Spain for four days. The first dozen results are all under £10! The first few are actually £2. Yes... two quid - for four days! Once you scroll past the silly prices, the normal, more believable ones take over, £75 up. This happened when I was looking…

Cabin bags taken at the gate
As a result of more and more passengers taking the maximum sized cabin bags, most airlines now seem to issue warnings that if the flight is full, some passengers (usually those towards the end of boarding) may not be able to take their cabin bags with them into the cabin, due to lack of sufficient space in overhead…

Best pre paid card for Morocco
My son is travelling to Morocco next month and I'm a bit bamboozled by the selection of pre paid cards out there. I understand that he would get better rates with euros rather than pounds. Can anyone advise which pre paid card would be best as I don't think it's advisable to use his bank debit card?
