Need extra insurance for car hire?

Options
Below is a Copy text of the car hire I’ve paid for 2 weeks in the US. I haven’t paid anything for insurance to the renting company but I seem to have some level of cover. I’d rather have as much cover as possible (just in case) but am I gaining anything from a stand-alone policy off moneymaxim (or similar)?

ZERO EXCESS WITH EXTENDED COVER INCLUDING WHEELS, GLASS, UNDERSIDE AND ROOF OF VEHICLE

Value Added Tax (VAT)
Liability Insurance
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) including damage to wheels, glass, underside and roof of vehicle with zero excess.
Theft Protection (TP) with zero excess
Fire Insurance
REVIEW TERMS AND CONDITIONS

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT - PAID LOCALLY
None chosen
PAYMENT DETAILS

PAID AS OF 16 AUG 2019
Rental with Zero Excess with Extended Cover including wheels, glass, underside and roof of vehicle £425.53

You have purchased separate reimbursement insurance from the Broker. As you state, it has nothing to do with the car rental company itself.
So if you have to pay anything to the car rental company, you should keep the invoice and receipts in order to present them to the insurance company for reimbursement.
No doubt that the broker has charged you more than necessary for the separate insurance policy.

How much did you pay for the insurance policy? Is there a cooling off period?

Ideally a standalone policy that included SLI up to US$1,000,000 would be best for you.

I didn’t add any extras onto the policy, the cover I’ve got was included with it. Would you reccomend a separate policy from moneymaxim or similar in this case? Thanks

They have included it as an extra, regardless of what you think.

Who is the broker? Include more details.

Must have been as a free extra then, I do remember they added extra drivers on free too so possibly part of that package?
Auto Europe is the broker I booked through using Dollar as the provider

It is a separate policy. Free? Depends on whether the package can be found cheaper elsewhere.

City, car group and dates if you please. You can vary the dates by a couple of days if you wish. I want to look at the T&C to note what is included and to compare prices.

Mine says zero excess on CDW so there’s no need to get additional insurance?

You could take out insurance to cover any excluded items such as tyres if you wish, but most things are already covered.

Using your dates and times. I used the airport(SFO), since I didn't know which downtown office you wanted.

Of course without an extra driver.
