Flying to Canada under maiden name?

Hey all,
While we've been married for 5 years my wife has never bothered to update the name on her passport. We're now planning a trip to Canada so I was looking into the name change procedure this weekend, and from what I can tell she'd have to get an entirely new 10 year passport for £75, just to change this single detail.
Her maiden name passport still has 2 years left on it, so do we actually NEED to update it? For the sake of £75 we'd rather just wait until it expires to change the details, but we also don't want to get caught short at security, if that's even a thing that could happen...
Highly appreciate any advice on this! Cheers.

There is no requirement for a married woman to have to use her husbands name
as long as you book ticket and ETA in the same name as the passport there would be no issues0 -
