Safe to pay by Bank Transfer on Gumtree?
I'm looking to buy a second hand phone off Gumtree and the seller wants paid by bank transfer. If the seller reports the phone as lost, would the bank assist in claiming the money back if I could provide a police report number?

How to post a boxed item with item details and pictures on outside of box.
I currently have a branded smart oven for sale on ebay. In original box which had pictures and details etc of contents. Which it needs to stay in for the safety of the oven. I will send it Royal Mail tracked. Without putting it into an even bigger box what else can I use to wrap it in? I don't think bin bags taped on are…

Packlink Woes
I have had three Packlink transactions appear on my PayPal account today for £3.18 each. When I use the Packlink website, it tells me the invoice number I am inputting is incorrect, I haven't sold anything on eBay this week, nor have I had any excess weight charges from other parcels. When I try and raise a claim with…

How long to wait for buyer to reply (collection item)?
I've since read the sticky about collection, but admit I'd listed my item before I even considered problems. I had a listing for a collection only item. It's bulky, heavy, but fragile and not unique, although people tend to look for these second hand, as they are so expensive new. I'd seen this item be sold several times…

Royal Mail barcoding stamps - existing stamps valid only until 31 Jan 2023
Just a heads up - RM are now issuing all definitive stamps with attached barcodes (as I understand it) - presumably this is to allocate each stamp a serial number so it can't be used twice? Also the barcodes can be scanned by eg your phone for advertising messages etc. Existing stamps will only be valid until 2023 so just…

Shiply courier item not delivered
Hi, am new here and looking for some advice as I'm feeling a bit desperate. I won an eBay auction for a Victorian door (for £250) and used Shiply to find a courier. Didn’t know this about best offers
Someone made me a ‘best offer’ for one of my items. Whilst I was considering it, the same person then bid my starting price (which was lower than the offer) and that automatically cancelled their offer. Must admit i didn’t think you could effectively withdraw your offer by bidding lower, though the offer was binding.

Parcelforce Customs!!
Hi everyone, I'm new here but I just had a question regarding Parcelforce customs. I have what parcel force class as a high value item (over £900) that has been in customs since the 23 November 2023. I contacted Parcelforce last week to ask about where it was, and they told me to email pfw-ccb@parcelforce.co.uk and ask…

Restricted item, kept by eBay
Hi . After contacting eBay to ask why an item I'd sold was not going to be delivered I've been sent the following message. They've given me no explanation as to why a new, unused motorbike carburettor is a restricted item! The message says that the buyer will have his money refunded. However eBay will NOT return the item…

Help with FedEx tracking
I've been sent a tracking number from a company I have ordered goods from. They've sent me a link to this parcel. Is the Taynuilt, GB address at the bottom the delivery address for the parcel? If so, it's not mine. If this is my parcel it's going a very odd route to me in East Anglia!

Not paying attention I accidentally counter offered an offer from them - and then got more and more questions- asking for extra photos, asking whether marks are a cameral flash or damage- all on a sub £10 vintage item. AI descriptions on ebay
Has anyone tried the new AI generated descriptions when selling? I have been waiting for an opportunity to give it a go and was quite impressed. The information is mainly taken from the item specifics and possibly similar listing. They can be a bit 'wordy' but you have the opportunity to edit before listing. At least…

eBay postage delivery confirmation
Not something I do regularly but once in a while I sell a low cost item and I'm sure for some time I've been sending using standard 2nd class postage purchased through eBay and in eBay a delivery confirmation gets recorded (obviously no tracking) Either I'm dreaming or this has stopped working recently?
