Using Klarna to build up credit history?
My credit history is generally good but I need to have some more recent entries in my file. I find the idea of using my existing credit card for everyday purchases and paying it back quite fiddly and annoying. A home appliance has recently stopped working, so I'm considering buying a new one (approx. £300) using Klarna 3…

Does taking out a credit card really increase your credit score?
I have read both that it does and doesn't. I'm unsure what to believe. I took one out (my first) in mid 2021 but haven't used it at all. Will this affect my credit score at all? I'm not versed in credit cards and was apprehensive about taking one out (due to horror stories I've heard over the years).

I have some really dumb, simple questions regarding credit card usage (never had one before)
In about May of last year I decided to take out a credit card (Capital One) for the first time (at 29 years old). I hadn't used it at all until just a few hours ago when I really needed something from the store but and didn't have the funds to pay via debit card. My first question is, how do I know when I need to pay the…

HELP ANY SOLICITORS THAT CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION
I am the Claimant in a claim issued in the Small Claims Track. I have received the DQ from the Defendant and she stated that she will be unavailable for 10 months Is this acceptable? Does that mean the Court will not list this hearing and avoid her dates. Surely unreasonable conduct!

Blacklisted for fraud at 17, now 22
I'm currently serving in the British Army and currently I only have a basic Cash Account with Metro Bank, which only lets money go into my account. I am not able to create direct debits with this account either, so building my credit score is becoming a problem. An incident happened in 2017 where I was living in a youth…

Credit score help, with Littlewoods
Hello, so I’ll start by saying I’m not completely educated on credit scores and how they work and what affect them other than the obvious. So I’m here to ask a few questions. I'm trying to move out of home as a first time renter and my credit score is terrible. Well, except it’s not. It’s 408 on clearscore but 912 on…

Joint account with ex partner!
Hi, looking for some advice. I recently managed to track down my ex who I had a joint account with. His business went under and so he took an IVA in his name and consolidated everything. When we split up I'd asked him to remove my name from the joint bank, long story short he didn't. I eventually got him to the bank and we…

Credit File inconsistencies - affecting rating
Hi everyone, Just looking for some advice. I've been working on my credit file and it's doing quite well. Experian and TransUnion both report score as excellent, but Equifax is under 500/1000. Very.co.uk
Hi. I just came out of a BNPL and interest has been added on at around £100. This is fine etc. I have no concerns about the amount and paying the debt. The debt is £1500. My first bill has come in at £103. The interest rate in my account is 9.9%. Does anyone know how they arrive at a first payment figure of £103? Basically…

Credit report needed to prove my mortgage is paid-off
So, last week I discovered that my mortgage payment protection plan with L&G was still active, despite my mortgage having been paid-off in 2017. For whatever reason, the small monthly premiums were missed, until I spotted the policy renewal document from last year in a pile old documents I was sorting.I gave them a call,…

Financial Ombudsman Case
Good evening, I recently won a case through the financial ombudsman against a credit card company for unaffordable lending. The debt from the credit card was sold to a debt collection agency. The financial ombudsman has ruled that all negative comments are to be removed from my credit file. I have 2 defaults on my file, 1…
