I recently was refused a credit order on an account I've had for 20 years.
After calling them I was told tha5 my credit acore had changed and that they had information from transunion credit reference that my credit was bad.
I've since been in touch with these people and seen that there is another person's information as well as mine on the report.
They have said this is a technical issue. But it's not on my experian report but its still affecting my ability to get credit.
Not only that but they've told me I have to prove I don't know or never have known this person at my address I've also lived at my address for 18 years. There's no reason for a mix up like this. But I cant do anything about it. Is there someone else I can contact.

The ICO. But I would try TransUnion again as you got duff advice. It doesn't matter if you know the person or not - their data should only be on your file if you ARE that person, or have a financial association.0

Credit files belong to people, not addresses. If another person's info is on your credit file, then you have a right to have it removed. Lodge a formal (written) complaint to TransUnion asking for it to be corrected/removed.0
