Whatever happened to Texaco CC?
Hi, I checked the texaco credit card before as I was considering a Balance Transfer (they had good rates last I checked) but I have noticed texaco are 'no longer looking for new customers'....? Is this a reflection of the fuel crisis, the economy or somthing more / less sinister???

Barclaycard 0% life of Balance Important.
Not sure if this has already been discussed, but I received my Barclaycard statement this morning and discovered I was paying full interest. I contribute £1 to the upkeep of this site through PayPal and have just found out that it looks like PayPal have cancelled the subscription because it was now two years old. I can't…

Incorrect entry on Experian credit file
Long story, but I recently obtained a copy of my Experian credit file just out of interest (had no problems with gaining credit anywhere - it was just curiosity), there was an entry from Vodafone Communications saying that I had a default of £120 from back in 2000. Now the strange thing is that I have had various Vodafone…

Natwest 9m BT card - Now a 2% fee for non-Natwest account holders?
I have seen the Natwest card listed as one of the best for BTs (no fee for 9 months) but I just started to apply and came accross this on the balance transfer page: Transfer & Save lets you transfer balances from your higher rate credit and store cards to your NatWest Credit Card so you can start saving money right away.…

TV license by credit card
Looks like you can now pay for this by credit card [must phone an 0870 number though - so best done at the w/e]. Has any one any experience of doing this? I presume there is no difference in the cost? Thanks EDIT 07/10: Thanks for all your observations below. These have been very infomative - shame I didn't notice this…

Do various levels of card require various levels of credit rating
Apols if this has been asked, I have searched and not found. I am going to apply for a Natwest CC. I have a current account with them. My credit rating is OK, but not perfect. Based on my income etc I am fine to apply for a platinum card rather than the basic or in between card. My question is this- do cc companies apply…

WHICH? short changes consumers!
WHICH? formely known as the Consumers Association represented consumers concerns and issues with the Chip & PIN people prior to the roll-out of Chip & PIN. Millions of people are having problems with PINs and WHICH? are very reluctant to address this problem, in fact they are ignoring it. Computer Active issue 199, letters…

Minimum Interest - Is it legal?
How can credit card companies get away with charging a minimum amount of interest? Next month my Barclaycard will charge me a minimum of £1 interest per month regardless of how little I actually owe on the card (at the moment it's 50 per month). Surely this practice renders their quoted APR figures as nonsense. Some might…

Chargebacks
About a month ago a company overcharged my Mastercard on the remainder of an order I had outstanding with them. Basically they fulfilled the order at a new stock price when I had agreed to pay the price they quoted at the time. No T&Cs appear visible on their site saying they might do this and there was no notification.…

Can I carry on credit card free indefinitely??
Hi everyone, just had an interesting conversation with my friend at the weekend! I'm 26 now and have never had an 'active' credit card. I was given one through the HSBC as a student which was never used, I only got them as part of the whole student deal. They have now not bothered reissuing them to me as I never bothered…

Barclaycard/skycard!
Hey guys :) Just a quick question :) I had a barclaycard a few years back and ran onto trouble paying it off, anyway, long story short, I am paying it back now (just started) and am trying to rebuild my credit at the same time. I know SkyCard is owned by Barclaycard and was wondering if Skycard would decline me because of…

Inactive CC transaction
Hope this is the right board for this question. It isn't exactly a question about money-saving but I hope somebody can put my mind at rest. In April I placed an order with an online company for an electrical product which was not due to be released until June. I "paid" for this with my Visa credit card. The inverted commas…

Credit Limit - IF
Hi all, I've just cancelled my Lloyds TSB Platinum as they refused to give me a 0% BT as existing customer. I've also cancelled a dormant C/A with barclays. I currently only hold a Sainsbury's Platinum with an outs balance of 2,800. I am intending to apply to an IF C/C as my 0% deal with Sainsburys expires in the 1st week…

Reduce monthly repayments
Hi All I'm brand new to this forum, so forgive me if I'm asking silly questions. In my infinite wisdom I've purchased a car and transferred the balance of the car from my bank account to my M&S Money 0% card. Something I didn't check beforehand though is that they require a minimum 3% monthy payment. Before I did the…
