Latest HSBC safeguard letter
Hi all - I see from old threads on this forum and others, as well as news pieces, that this was an issue for many HSBC customers in the mid 2000s. I'm now the subject of one of these so-called 'safeguard' reviews, puportedly to "update my details". It took a long time to get them to stop obfuscating about what they wished…

HSBC / First Direct login problems? App seems fine but not browser?
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced login issues with a desktop browser? I've updated the apps for both on my mobile (which admittedly is quite old, but the app works fine, else app wouldn't update or I wouldn't be able to unlock my security code). I can log into my accounts via the apps, but unable to seemingly…

Confused over 159 number
Martin is doing a lot of talking about 159 and how it can't be spoofed or impersonated compared to normal numbers, but doesn't explain why. Does this mean it's no longer safe to use the numbers typically on the back of your debit card - the number which banks say you must always call and no other number? It seems strange…

Anti money laundering questions - cant answer some of the questions.
Hi I hope this is the right place. I have 2 current accounts etc, both with associated credit cards. Number 2 is asking for the money laundering personal detail check. All well and good but I cant answer some of the questions (they are predictive) and some only allow part of the answer. My pension goes into no 1. There is…

Feedback on Virgin Club M packaged account
Hi, I'm just after some feedback good/bad on specifically Virgin's packaged account (Club M). I already have their 10% reg saver so have a login already. Stick with Santander 123 Current Account or Switch to Santander Edge Current Account?
I have had a Santander 123 Current Account for years and am wondering whether to switch to a Santander Edge Current Account instead? I don't need an overdraft and am more interested in interest rates and cashback. What would be the best move?

Monzo 60 Day Notice Closure
Hi All, I’m worried sick. Been a customer of Monzo for 6 years. Put my £95k a year salary into it and also have a joint account with £3k a month going in for bills. I do admit I don’t leave much in the account monthly as I tend to save elsewhere (Money Box). On Friday 25th I got an email to say both accounts were closing…

Debit card use abroad
I’ve had a message from Lloyd’s (dated 10 March) that they’re removing local currency fees from debit card use from 14 April. I was thinking of using my Lloyd’s card on my cruise as I don’t want to use cash when spending in NOK, SEK and DKK - I don’t think it’s worth the fees for the limited sums for a day each for number…

ATM didn't give me long enough to retrieve the note. Company unhelpful.
I used an ATM outside a supermarket when on holiday in Wales last week. The machine did not give me long enough to retrieve my cash and when I leaned forward to try to take it the gate mechanism closed and the money was lost to me. I was very angry and upset. I felt quite humiliated given that it was such a public area.…

Which of these banks clear cheques the next working day?
I need the funds from this cheque ASAP but it's over £5000 so can't benefit from image deposit via an app. I know Nationwide can clear a cheque paid in over the counter the next working day, but I have current accounts with Bank of Scotland (via a Halifax branch), Lloyds, TSB and Co-op. I would have to travel to reach…
