fairtrade products- a real deal, or ripoff?
is there any proof that the various growers of x/y/z foodstuffs get paid more, when you buy a fairtrade branded product? or are the supermarkets just conning people into paying more for 'ethical' peace of mind..? (assumes same product quality, shops keep same price margains, so no loss to them),,

Easylife Group - pay us to return faulty goods
There's other threads about this lot, but here's another one as a warning. My mum ordered two halogen heaters from them via a newspaper insert. They managed to send them to wrong address, then one was chipped, the other was marked as a returned item and was missing the screws & bolts to put it together. The promised…

Argh....here to vent, naturally. Around 2 weeks ago after a drive through London, my mum asked me to pop onto the CCLondon website to pay that day's congestion card. All cool, the confirmation screen popped up to say that the payment had been accepted or confirmed. Forgot all about it until today. We got a letter in the…

Sainsburys Staff feeding frenzy
I was shopping in Sainsburys yesterday and was in a queue waiting to be served at the fresh fish counter, as I waited I saw most of the fish was being reduced by over 50% which seemed to be perfect timing, unfortunately as this happened other Sainsburys staff started appearing behind the counter speaking to the supervisor…

Supermarket stealth pricing
I appreciate goods have to rise in cost and as supermarkets only make about a 500 million a year profit and couldn't possibly absorb even a 1p rise on anything, i understand those costs are passed on to us, the consumer. What i do have issue with though is the stealth rises. Why can't these large companies just be honest…

Olympus Cameras
I bought an Olympus C50-zoom about four years ago and always have been really pleased with the quality of the pictures. I managed to buy a 1gb XD card from PC World for £8 due to a price match from play.com, however, the C-50 firmware didnt recognise the 1gb card and showed an error, I rang the Olympus customer service…

Co-op price hike
Not impressed with my local co-op! At the end of February they had their meatballs at 1.99 a pack, buy one get one free. I thought I would give them a try and they were lovely so went back the next day to get some more. Unfortunately they were sold out and was told some more would be coming in the next day. Went in the…

Morrisons - bit premature ?
I went into my local Morrisons about 10 days ago to buy some bread making flour. It was on offer; 80 something instead of £1.19. I bought a couple of bags and noted that the offer ended on the 23rd. I went back today to stock up - and it's back up to full price ! Cheeky b*****s !

Tesco- Easter is over
Just got back from Tesco and had been hoping to pick up a couple of small easter things for niece and nephew- there is NOTHING left bar a few bags of smarties eggs. Complained to customer service who said they were 'wiped out' yesterday. While I can understand stock control is important and I know they don't want loads…

play.com - total jokers
Right, I wanted to order my mum an extra special present for Mothers Day this year, something she actually wanted: a digital camera to help with her eBaying. A fairly pricey one too, at £90. But unfortunately Play.com have given me one problem after the other so far... 1. Play.com would not let me ship to her address, only…

BEWARE! Automart Online
I just thought I'd share this one, in the hope of preventing others being ripped off in the same way. I have been advertising my car in Autotrader and as this was coming to an end, my husband received a call from someone implying they were from Auto Trader and offering a deal of £69 to advertise the car until it was sold.…
