Interparcel, not as cheap as they seem
sent a parcel with this company to Latinamerica on the 7th of March. They are brokers for DHL and other couriers. They prices are lower than those offered by couriers but when things go wrong, they do not want to know. My parcel has yet to reach its destination with the 'Express' service. It took Interparcel over 5 days to…

Price fixing on UK consumer electronics - investigating/reporting
I've been looking at getting a new mp3 player. I've done a lot of research and it seems that Cowon mp3 players get good press, so I've been trying to buy one in the UK. I've discovered that all UK resellers of Cowon products mark their products up 100% compared with the exact same products in the US. See, for example, the…

Bluewater gift vouchers
These vouchers have a limited time within which they can be spent, and can only be used at Bluewater Shopping Centre (Kent) at participating stores. If you run out of time, tough, you lose the money. I know a number of people who have fallen foul of this time limit. Is BW within its rights to impose such a strict limit?

PTI Europe Region
Just checked my bank balance and have had a mysterious £6.95 payment to PTI Europe Region. Anyone else know what this is for? There isn't much on google at the moment, but there seem to be at least a couple of other reports of things like this.

Has anybody else had this problem.. After a month of trying to get a replacement for a cordless drill that arrived burnt out, I have since spent since November 2007 (now March 2008) trying to get Northern Tools to pay the refund for the returned item. They authorised the return, and confirmed receipt and promised a refund.…

Tesco Customer Services says no refund on faulty goods if no receipt!
Hello Last month I bought a set of knives from Tesco and over Easter the black grip on the handle of one of the knives has peeled off. I rang Customer Services to inform them and was told to take the set back to the store with the receipt. My OH unpacked and in a fit of recycling threw away all the packaging and the…

Virgin Mobile
Last year we bought a 'new' phone from ebay (new in that it was still sealed, but had been bought from Virgin Mobile just weeks before). Unfortunately the battery life was poor (less than 16 hours), so recently I rang VM to discuss if they had the solution or what to do next. They wanted to exchange it, but as it wasn't…

Nationwide - I am not and, now, never intend to be a customer
Last Wednesday evening, at approximately 5.30, the phone rang and a mixture of automated voices said something like "This is Nationwide Building Society and this is a call for Mr P O. If Mr P O is there please press ...." and so the menu continued. As I am not Mr P O, do not know a Mr P O, and am not a customer of…

Mobile phone companies above the law?
Had a problem with a VODAFONE mobile that went faulty 6 weeks after I bought it. Called customer service and they stated I HAD TO send it for repair and I couldn't request a replacement. When I mentioned the The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002 this apparently didn't apply as Vodafone were billing me…

Woolworths grrrr
I just bought a Samsung C300 mobile phone from Woolworths - £15 on Orange PAYG. Cheap and nasty handset but it'll do the job for me as a backup phone. One problem - it has clearly been used before  It has small scratches on it and two phone numbers stored in the phone memory! Strange thing is - the Samsung seal was…
