Northern Tools won't pay refund

Has anybody else had this problem.. After a month of trying to get a replacement for a cordless drill that arrived burnt out, I have since spent since November 2007 (now March 2008) trying to get Northern Tools to pay the refund for the returned item. They authorised the return, and confirmed receipt and promised a refund. Every time I call them, they promise the refund will be in the post, BACs transfer and its now been 5 months of these promises. When I call now, I am treated like a pariah, yet they are the one's in the wrong, I had thought this was a responsible company but they are acting like one of the scammers that Martin rightly identifies. Any suggestions as to what to do next, has anybody else had a similar experience with this company?

Hello simonm
I'll move your thread to 'The (Consumer) Vent' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

If you paid by cc get onto them, failing that it's write them a letter, give them a time period in which to pay, warn them you will take them to court and if they don't pay within deadline off to court you go - it's pretty easy really.0

Agree with Blacksheep1979 ... although I'm still trying to find any of these scammers that Martin identifies ... many more are identified by everyday MSEers
