Morrisons - bit premature ?

Options
I went into my local Morrisons about 10 days ago to buy some bread making flour. It was on offer; 80 something instead of £1.19. I bought a couple of bags and noted that the offer ended on the 23rd.

I went back today to stock up - and it's back up to full price ! Cheeky b*****s !

    How exactly?

The terms will state offers can be withdrawn at any time, or whilst stocks last

They honoured the offer whilst the signs were around, dont see the issue
  • are they shut tomorrow? maybe they decided to tidy things up early ready for new offers next week?

They did a similar thing to me a while back, notice was still up and valid for products in a basket, but price had changed at the till. Fortunately I noticed and the difference was refunded.

You could ring and point it out though.

The signs said the offer lasted until the 23rd.
They have plenty of stock - at £1.19.

To say they honoured the offer "whilst the signs were around" is disingenuous to say the least,

If that is being "thesmartestmanalive", I'll say no more !

and maybe they got stock at a reduced price and that ran out?

The fact is a special offer is just that special, the terms allow them normally to be withdrawn at any time and you dont have any right to insist on them abiding by it once signs etc go down

Ill bet the sign said to such and such whilst stocks last

    That's the point, I didn't !
  • I agree with the OP on the principles. I would be pretty !!!!ed off if I went along especially to buy a product advertised as on offer but the offer was gone. I hope the issue is addressed on a bigger scale but I do think the OP is wasting their time over 40p and not buying the flour at the higher price.
They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!

Did you actually check the price at the till? It may be that they took the labels off early because offers will change on monday and they don't want old labels there then, but that it sstill would have gone through at the cheaper price.
