To switch or not to switch?
Hi all, I'm hoping someone here can offer me some valuable advice. I'm currently with EDF Energy who I've been with for many years on 'Standard (variable)' paying quarterly with cash. I don't pay by direct debit due to the problem of varying amounts being taken which can sometimes eventually lead to paying too much. I also…

Gas meter readings added online disappear
Hi, since April 17 gas meter readings I have added online monthly have disappeared from my online account and not been used in bills, they use an estimate instead. I have contacted supplier Flow Energy about this many times and have been told the gas national database has been updating all this time so that no one can…

When to switch suppliers
We move in to a new house tomorrow and am wondering whether it is best to change to a new supplier straight away or wait until we know what we'll be using?

SSE up to their old tricks again???
Hi. I was just at my Dad's house when someone knocked the door. My Dad answered it, and I heard the guy say "Hi, I'm just here to switch your meter". My Dad is a little hard of hearing, and thought he'd said read the meter. Hearing this, I went out to the door, and he was already reading the meter and typing the values…

Estimated Final Bill
We moved house in May, leaving Npower and joining British Gas at our new house. Npower have lost the final meter readings we gave them over the phone. They now want us to pay a final estimated bill for our gas and electricity of £167. We estimate that if we do owe them any money (and we're not convinced we will) it's more…

I got both electric and gas around a £1000 each rang them up and explained and was told this was a recently opened account. Was told he had logged…

OVO Energy Fictitious Bills
Has anyone had, or know anyone that's had, problems with getting fictitious bills from OVO energy? I moved into a new property at the back end of April and since then have been receiving numerous bills and final demands from OVO to either the 'occupier' or a name similar to, but not mine... the outstanding amounts differ…

New Boiler
Hi, any help is most appreciated! I know I need to replace my old boiler as it is 20 years old and every other year needs repairing (although these repairs are covered by my insurance). I'm also aware that it's probably costing me more in gas bills as it is inefficient heating-wise. I have looked online and…

Switching problems
My tarrif with GB Energy ended on 30th June and switched to Affect Energy, who have been told of my meter readings. Best date to switch
My fixed rate tariffs for seperate gas & electric suppliers are coming to an end (within 30-50 days) and I will automatically move to their standard (exorbitant) rates on the end date. The two end dates do not coincide. Having used the MSE tariff check, I will change supplier and become dual fuel. The proposed tariff is…

Switching not so straight forward
I moved into my bunglaow a month ago. It had been empty for a long time. Not sure how long as an old man had moved out and then died several months later in a nursing home. I bought the bungalow and I set up energy with green star, via a phone call from iammoving.com who called me at home after I had filled out a form on…

Boiler casing corrosion
I am aware that this topic came up years ago but it seems like it has now been closed, however here goes. I have been with a major supplier of energy for many years with whom I have a service contract for my Ideal RS360 Boiler. This was fitted in late 2002 when I was told there were no spares for my existing boiler which…

Green Star Energy Problem
Switched to GSE in May through MSE. Problem is my account won't accept Gas Meter Reading, I rang them up with the reading weeks ago and they said they would get accounts to sort it out. If I want to put in another reading I still cannot do so and my original reading is still not showing.:( I have sent them an on line…

Energy Tariff Increases
In the past, I had always thought that energy prices go up in tandem with the price of gas/oil. Considering the continuing low price of oil, I would have thought there is no need for any increase in retail prices this winter.

Cooperative Energy
My fixed agreement with Cooperative Energy comes to an end soon and they are offering me a £150 Loyalty discount if I sign up again either until July 2019 or 2020. Energy prices confuse me as other firms seem to change their prices quite often so, basically, all I'm asking is, do people think the Cooperative is as good as…
