Charges for paying by Direct Debit

Having just received my latest TV license I notice a charge of £1.25 per quarter for paying by Direct Debit.. Will the new regs to be brought in in Jan 2018 banning extra credit/debit card charges also apply to extra charges for paying by direct debit?

Not sure that this has anything to do with energy. I suggest that you delete your post and then re-post in the correct forum. FWiW, energy suppliers give a discount for paying by Direct Debit. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I think you'll find that paying once a quarter, or once a month with incur extra charges in the same way that they do for Car Tax or even insurance.
The cost of these are usually based on an up-front payment, so those who give credit usually charge extra.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
