When to switch suppliers
Comments

Personally I would switch now with an estimate of your yearly usage, making sure to submit monthly readings.I m just about to get switching myself as I m out of contract and just spotted a terrific low standing charge and tariff for gas only with Zog energy. You could be paying £7 a month alone extra in standing charges for gas alone with BG and other pricey big 6 suppliers.0

Don't forget to read your meters as soon as you take possession and open an account with the existing supplier before you switch as you;ll have to pay for the energy that you use before the switch goes through. The supplier will usually put you on their standard variable tarrif which is likely to be the most expensive. You can use that as the comparison site reference
You can easily make your own estimate of what you will use - use the accepted averages of 3500kwh/yr for leccy and around 13000kwh/yr for gas when using a comparison site to see what you will have to pay.
Take photos of the meter readings and save them for poserity - just in case any goes awry in the futureNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
