Hi, hope some of you might have experienced some of my issues with AXA’s loss adjusters. Advice very much appreciated. Home insurance inc work from home & visitors
Hi all. I'm looking to start some car mechanic work at home on my drive. I currently pay c£200 for home & contents but from the brokers I have spoken to this will shoot up…

Minor damage to car bumper
I have some minor damage to my car bumper. My car insurance policy has a protected no claims discount (15 years) and £0 excess. Therefore I am thinking about making a claim. Domestic or commuting?
Hi, I'm retired with no other jobs so my car insurance automatically excludes commuting. My wife still works and usually takes the bus. If I run her in to work and pick her up maybe 2 or 3 times a week, is that classed classed as commuting or domestic duties? Otherwise how do I reconcile retired with commuting? Thanks.

Home insurance comparison site question - what does it mean?
Hi MSE hive mind, I'm getting home insurance quotes. I need to add info about a claim, bike stolen from outside a supermarket. Moneysupermarket asks: "Was the claim made for this address?" Do they want to know if the bike was stolen from my house, OR do they want to know if the policy I claimed under was for my current…

LV Home Insurance not renewing
Had an email from LV saying that they will not be renewing our home insurance (buildings and contents). I rang to ask why and they said it is because they have changed their underwriting rules, our insurance has not been refused, and we don’t have to declare it to another company if we're getting a quote. They said they…

When is a claim not a claim?
I recently made a claim on my home insurance. As the claim developed, it became clear that the damage was not covered by the terms of the insurance and I have therefore withdrawn the claim and received no payment. Now, when I go onto a website and ask for a quote, should I enter this as a previous claim or not?

Motor insurance - the cost of commuting use post-pandemic
I currently have commuting use on my car insurance policy and assume this impacts my premium (although it isn't visible in my premium breakdown). Pre-pandemic this made sense, I commuted approx. 100 miles a day, 5 days a week. Post-pandemic, I now work from home 4 or 5 days a week so my commute has been reduced by at least…
