Home insurance comparison site question - what does it mean?

Hi MSE hive mind,

I'm getting home insurance quotes. I need to add info about a claim, bike stolen from outside a supermarket.

Moneysupermarket asks: "Was the claim made for this address?"

Do they want to know if the bike was stolen from my house, OR do they want to know if the policy I claimed under was for my current address?

Thanks in advance!

I would assume it to be the address of the policy, although it does seem slightly ambiguous when applied to a stolen bike.

Would agree with the interpretation of the above, assuming there is no helper text.

Ultimately when buying from any aggregator the questions on their site is only so important, what's much more important is how those answers are interpreted when it comes to the company you want to buy from. Many will simply ignore certain questions as its not part of their rating engine so if you click through and review the quote and its not mentioned there then its ok. If it is there and the question is still no clearer then check with the company BEFORE buying.
