Santander /Cahoot cut off times for interest
Does anybody happen to know what time these 2 use to look at your balance and calculate daily interest? I'm trying to keep my Edge saver at £4000 to maximise interest and I've been assuming that as long as it is at this balance by 8.15 pm, which I believe is the faster payment cut off time it earns interest for that day…

Uknown payment
Hello, this afternoon I received a payment from Stichting Custodia along with Payout (followed by a reference number). I bank with Monzo, my pay day is every thursday so I know it wasn't work and i'm not expecting any money coming in apart from a refund from Viagogo but for a larger amount than the one received. I'm just…

Are any post offices in Northern Ireland open on Good Friday?
Does anyone know of a post office in Belfast or the rest of NI that will be open this Friday? The branch finder is useless, no sign that the hours in it take account of bank holidays. It's to deposit cash, not a huge amount so I think they would all accept it.

Blog: I Compared TSB’s 6-Month Rewards: Here’s the Trick to Get Both
I dug into TSB's 6-month switch rewards to help you choose the right one (or just claim both). https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/team-blog/2026/03/tsb-spend-save-rewards-explained-hack/

Tsb final reward
I got my last reward for the switch. It is £120 towards a hotel stay or some undisclosed attractions. No info on either. From what I read the hotel is the safer bet, even though they are likely to be overpriced. Has anyone tried it? (Their "help" line must be manned by cheap robots). Now I need a new switch ;)

Lloyds Verification OTP System Failure
I've been unable to login to the Lloyds website to do my online banking for over a week. Lloyds are no longer sending out a passcode to my mobile, so I cannot complete the last stage of the login. I am also unable to use my Lloyds credit card online because the transaction verification OTP is not being sent to my mobile.…

Switching current accounts - can I switch one and keep the other with the same bank?
I am with First Direct and have been happily. However, as a result of a divorce I now need to be more savvy financially, so I'm looking to optimise on the switching bank accounts. I have 2 sole accounts with First Direct, can I 'switch' one and keep the other and still get the rewards?

24 Moved to West Africa need bank account tips.
I recently finished my master’s course and began a new job in November. I am currently earning approximately £3,000 per month after tax while working in West Africa, and I have saved around £10,000 to date. I am paid into my Wise account by a US company that operates in West Africa. When it comes to UK-based finance, I…

Where to keep your card?
My debit card dropped out of my phone case and I didnt notice, so I needed to cancel and order a new card. Do you just use your mobile banking app for money/cash or do you use a bank card and keep it in your phone case or wallet? I am thinking about turning back the clock and buying a small wallet.

£0.01 transaction attempted by company
I had a notification on my banking app of a £0.01 transaction at TK Maxx, where I hadn't shopped for a while. My bank told me "we see this a lot, where the company tests your card to see if it is still active", and mentioned GDPR. I was unhappy about this, so I checked with TK Maxx who denied it. The money never left my…

Santander £180 switch offer (01/04/2026 to TBC)

What you need to do: 1: Submit a switch request on or after 1st April 2026 and before the switch offer is withdrawn. 2: Complete a full switch to a new or existing Santander Everyday, Edge, Edge Up, Edge…

Strange email from Santander (Business account).
I am a sole trader and have had a Santander business account for a long time. Today I received an email from Santander saying:- "We've been told by Companies House that an objection has been raised to your company dissolving. You have an outstanding balance on account number ending xxxx. This needs to be paid before your…

Nationwide fairer share 2026 - cash deposits
I've read the guide on the site about maximising my chances of a 2026 Nationwide fairer share bonus, if indeed there is to be one. For the purposes of qualification I (likely) need to "In two of the first three months of this year, pay IN at least £500 from a non-Nationwide account (this could be your salary, for example)…

Banking account without debit card
Hi To help (force!) Me to budget, I'm thinking about paying my salary into a bank account and using that account to just pay direct debits and standing orders. Then transferring a set amount weekly to a separate account which has a debit card attached, to use for day to day spending. Does anyone know of a current account…

Unauthorised direct debit query
Family member has a credit card. No direct debit set up because it’s 0% and they manually pay the payment each month with the aim of clearing it by the time the bought percent period ends. (Yes, I know) The bank unilaterally set up a direct debit and took the full amount leaving the current account empty bar £50. Bank has…

Suspicious call purportedly from my bank . .
I received a call earlier purportedly from my bank, Triodos. The caller said that a transaction had been attempted which had been flagged as fraud and had been blocked. I've just opened a chase savings account, via the app. I went to transfer some money from an hsbc account to my chase account. HSBC was unable to verify the chase bank acc details matched.
