Evening My partner bought a used car a few momths ago. Various issues arose and an independent garage declared engine failure and effectively needed engine rebuild. Contacted garage who were unhelpful, so opened section 75 with m&s cc (mastercard), who checked the garage report and credited the amount back. Since then,…

Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme - Who is responsible if car proves to be defective?
At the end of last summer I received a new Volvo EX90 through my employer's salary sacrifice scheme (facilitated by Tusker's). Since receiving the Volvo it has spent more time being repaired than in my possession - at present it has been with the dealership since the end of January with repairs outstanding owing to lack of…

Rubylaw.com investment scam
I am concerned my friend may have got caught up in a investment scam, possibly and APP scam. where someone contacted them saying they could offer them a job. I'm not 100% on the details, but essentially they have ended up transferring a large amount of money to this company (scammer), through Kraken, which is a…

AliExpress fake memory card
A few weeks ago I started buying small things on AliExpress. I was fully anticipating a problem sooner or later and it happened when I bought a memory card (sold as genuine) that was completely a fake. I raised a return with them stating it was defective and they asked me to supply some information. So I made a little…

Second Hand Cars - Consumer Rights
Won a County Court case… but still no payment – is the system broken? I wanted to share a recent experience and see if others have been through something similar. After purchasing a used car that turned out to be faulty, we went through the full legal process and won in the County Court under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.…

Section 75 claim for working system but poor workmanship
I had a towbar fitted to my campervan. It developed a fault, but my main problem is the quality of the wiring install. It's a Fiat Ducato van so the battery is under the passenger footwell and it's access panel is walked on whenever you have a passenger. The installer had laid the towbar control box on top of the battery,…

Should delivery costs be refunded on faulty goods?
I bought a dress online from M&S but it was faulty which I didn't notice until I wore it a week later. When I phoned them I was told I would have to return it to one of their clothing stores because they would have to see it to decide if it could be refunded. So I did the 40 mile round trip which cost me fuel and parking…

Sensory Education Ltd. (Formerly Cheap Disability Aids Ltd)
Hey folks, this appears to (sadly) be a company that comes up on the consumer forums A LOT. Having not been sent goods I ordered, and cancelling them as they had not arrived within time frame (indeed, never arrived) the company failed to refund me - as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Raised a chargeback after no goods…

I've message this company since January who reply instantly and say they'll message the manufacturer to get this missing part sent out. First I'll have it in 3 days then weeks later, 5 - 10 days. Pinecone Research changed for the worse
Hi. I've been doing surveys with Pinecone Research for many years, earning 300 points per survey and being able to cash out at 300 points. Recently they announced exciting changes. All that's meant is that it is nigh on impossible to complete a survey as, even after answering many questions, we get told we're not suitable…

BackMarket - No Device, No Payment, No Communications, Blocked Account
Good Afternoon, I'm hoping that anybody here can provide some guidance on how to resolve a dispute with the electronic resale/refurbishing platform BackMarket. I got a new phone, looked around and decided to use BackMarket to sell my old iPhone 13 Pro Max. Placed their "order" for the sale, was going to use their envelope…

Cancellation Fees/Mis-sold
Hi there, this is my first post so be gentle. We recently purchased a bed from Bensons for Beds and were informed on arranging delivery that if the component items couldn't be delivered, we would lose the delivery fee. Fair enough. I'd measured the headboard size and it was going to be close, but it would fit up the…

Plumber Issues
Hi, I recently contracted the services of a plumber to fix my water tank as it began to leak and the stopcocks became very difficult to operate. I don't know what I was thinking but I'd paid him all the money upfront( labour & materials). I had used this specific plumber before on past jobs and although some may view his…

Samsung complaint
Hi everyone, I'll try and keep this brief else i'll end up waffling. I purchased a samsung tumble dryer and washing machine in 2022 directly from the samsung website (it was an employee purchase portal I got discount via work). It still cost over £1,000 for them. I was told it was a 5 year warranty on both products as long…

Hopefully a quick one, I ordered an item from Very and paid £5.99 next day delivery. Within a few minutes I attempted to cancel the order and the system didn't allow it. I refused delivery of item and it went back to Very. I have been refunded less £5.99 and am trying to find out what the rules are for refunding when…
