Shawbrook Bank - Ignores undelivered maturity emails- assumes you've received them.
I've just been reviewing my savings accounts and found 2 cash ISAs that had matured back in Jan 25 & Feb 25 but where I haven't received any maturity communications (either by post or email) No letters or emails offering me any options like they've normally done over the many years I've saved with them. I went online and…

Regular saver , what's the point?
I don't understand the point of a savings account that in the end you are going to only gain £25. For instance Principality pays 7.5% in interest, you have to deposit £200 every month for 6 months only ( no withdrawals) to get in the end £1,225.93 , that's an interest earned of £25 at the end of the 6 months . Is it worth…

Shawbrook 7 years fixed rate, would you go for that?
Shawbrook bank website is offering a quite rare (or let's say unusual) 7 years fixed rate Bond at 4.21% interest (and an Isa version at 4.14% with deposit allowed in the first 90 days that it is useful even for those who have already maxed out this year allowance and they must wait for April). Would you put £1000 on that ?…

Top Easy Access acs Ranked: Top of The Pots - **No Chat**
I've had a few suggestions/requests to start a separate 'No Chat' thread, as the ToTP list gets drowned in 'chat' in the 'Top Easy Access discussion' thread. The aim is to maintain an easy-to-find ranked list of the c.Top 10, available to open & manage online, Easy Access accounts, with links. The purpose of this thread is…

My S&S diary - investing from February 2026
After sitting to learn about investing into the stock market, I finally jumped in. The 6th of February 2026. I am writing the diary for myself to remember the journey. I could see that I, probably the same as others, tend to only feel comfortable to tell others about what we do, when we are doing fine with S&S, and choose…

Money Market vs Gilt Fund (again)
I've asked similar question couple of years back but thought worth getting an up to date perspective… My pension pot currently has 70% equities, 20% money market fund, 10% UK gilts fund (containing mix of medium to long term gilts). The gilt fund is basically all that is available from my workplace pension in terms of…

Investing
Hi, my cash ISA is maxed out for this year and will be for the new tax year when I fund it, but I'm wanting to put £50 or so away in something similar to a stocks and shares ISA. I'm aware I can't though as my cash ISAs are maxed out. Can I still open a S&S ISA or is there something else I can go for? Thanks

S&P 500 Distributing ETF
I have invested in FTSE 100 and FTSE world distributing ETF but not yet invested in the S&P 500 ETF. Anyone can comment on a S&P 500 distributing ETF in sterling that you have invested in the past or present? The name of fund? Thanks. Not looking for advice or opinion, just a fact, that is, the actual name of the fund.

Zero launches 'Planet Safe Saver' ethical savings account
Fintech app Zero's new 'Planet Safe Saver' account pays 3.66% AER (variable). It's currently the highest-paying easy-access 'ethical' saver, meaning it avoids funding fossil fuels, weapons, tobacco and similar sectors. It's not a top market rate, but 'ethical' accounts are something we're often asked about, and the rates…

S&P 500 VUAG £1000 here's how it's profiting6mnth,now
Good afternoon all as per title I have near £1,000 in. S&p VUAG for 6 months now and it's showing I have a profit of 4 pence - not exactly the kinds of interest I was expecting from listening to podcasts & experts that said that even a bog standard GIA(General account) would earn 6-8% interest, even my maths is telling me…

How are source of funds checks handled in property purchases?
I’ve been trying to understand how this works from a buyer’s perspective, especially when building up savings over time. In property transactions, if funds have moved across a few different accounts before being used for a deposit, how do conveyancers typically look at that? I imagine bank statements alone don’t always…

Private pension v Cash ISA
Hello, advice needed please. I have approx 25k in a private pension which hasn’t had anything added to it in 2 years, I also have about 9k in an account with Trading 212, this gets 3.6% AER. My head spins trying to work out if keeping the private pension where it is is best or taking it out and putting it in an ISA, I know…

Experiences of Freetrade?
I started an ISA with InvestEngine a year ago for tucking away spare money, separate from my pension savings. While I like the offering from them, ease of using the app and obviously the low cost of investing, I can't shake off an uneasy feeling about their reliability. For example, they pulled their new Life plan managed…

Money Moral Dilemma: I've put my mum's money into Premium Bonds - who gets the prize if it wins?
This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks… My mother has given me a sum of money to pass on to a friend of hers after she passes. I've put it in Premium Bonds to keep it safe until the time comes. If there's a win, big or small, should it go back to my mum, kept to give to her friend, or should I keep it? Unfortunately…

SIPP and LISA fees
Hi, I currently have a SIPP with Fidelity, in ETFs, so I pay £7.50 a month in fees. My question is, does it make sense for the £7.50 to come out of my SIPP or a CMA. From my understanding if I pay it out of my SIPP, I put £6 in, get the 25% (£1.50) uplift to make £7.50 and pay it with that. However, if I pay out of my CMA,…

RBS Digital Regular Saver
The max monthly deposit is £150. Is this net or total? Ie if I withdraw £4k on 1st April, can I add the £4k back in on 25th April, as long as the balance does not increase by more than £150 (plus interest) in the month? I'm sure i've seen this asked before but could not find!
