Maximising Avios points
Hi everyone, I’m looking to refine my strategy for maximising Avios via credit card rewards. Currently, I use an Amex Premium Cashback card, but I’d like to switch to a new Amex to take advantage of a sign-up bonus. My understanding is that to qualify for a new member bonus, you must not have held a personal Amex card for…

Closing an old card vs not
I currently have 2 credit cards (both 0%): Chase - NIL balance - £7k limit Tesco - £2k balance - £6k limit Should I close the Chase card as I'm not currently using it, and don't intend to in the future? I'm just thinking of chances of acceptance for a new one, when the Tesco card ends, as my credit utilisation will go up…

Section 75 with many parties involved
Hi, My son's school recently went into administration. We had paid for a school trip that is now not going ahead. Paid via Evolve which then pays the school. I just recevied a refund from Amex cc through section 75 (though dispute still open). Evolve contacted me today to ask me to retract the claim. I'm not sure what to…

Santander Everyday Long Term Balance Transfer Credit Card
Am I right in reading correctly - there is no deadline to the 0% offer for 34 months - you can transfer at any time during the first 34 months? I don't seem to see a deadline to complete a transfer to get 0% like other cards do?

Virtual Visa Debit cards - are they worth it?
Having been a member of Nielsen IQ for a long time, I have accrued quite a few points to convert. I have exchange points for Amazon vouchers in the past, but have noticed that you can also get a virtual visa debit card from them. This is shown as being acceptable at anywhere that accepts Visa debit cards. Before I go ahead…

Lloyds credit card is unusable due to overzealous security algorithm
I am fortunate in that I have never been out of work or had any financial problems, and have an excellent credit history. That is not good enough for Lloyds whose automated security algorithms have twice stopped me from buying something with my Lloyds so-called 'Ultra' credit card, and then blocked the card. This is…

Argos Pay
Please be gentle - this is my first post here, and I hope it's the right forum for this info. Argos have changed their credit service over the weekend and it's now called Argos Pay. Capitol One took more than amount stated in email
I received an email on April 25th, after my April statement came out on the 9th, and they said they would take a payment of approx £150 from my bank on May 2. They didn't, they took approx £190, the amount on the statement of April 9th. I had money in my bank for the £150 payment after seeing their email, so my payment…
