I'm considering switching either my Halifax Clarity or Barclays Reward for this one, I only got the Barclays so I had a Visa and Mastercard, now that Halifax have gone to Visa one is really surplus to needs.
I think I prefer the Halifax more for the platform, plus I bank with Barclays and I quite like the separation from my main bank account as I don't do mobile banking.

If it's just a backup card, wouldn't any forex free Mastercard fit your needs?
Even the Post Office offers them now.

Yes, most likely. It had been on the back of mind it was something I needed to look into but after an email from Santander for the card, then spotting this thread it seems like a good option.
As we often go to Spain, I did wonder if there may be some benefits with Santander ATMs for the odd occasion we need to withdraw cash

"As we often go to Spain, I did wonder if there may be some benefits with
Santander ATMs for the odd occasion we need to withdraw cash"Best deal for cash in Spain is a Santander UK Everyday Current Account debit card - use it at a Banco Santander branch (oficinas) fully branded ATMs - no fees.
Avoid standalone ATMs (cajeros) which bear the Santander logo - they are part of the Euro Automatic Cash network which has an agreement with BS for domestic customers, foreign users are liable to be charged fees.
You can locate Banco Santander branches here -
The Everyday Current Account has no strings attached - such as Direct Debit or minimum monthly deposit requirements.

I currently have a Santander credit card on a 0% offer.
I checked my eligibility for a second Santander credit card through the Santander banking app, and it said I was not eligible.
However, when I used the eligibility checker on the Santander website, it showed that I was eligible for a Santander credit card and even provided an estimated credit limit.
Could this be because I already hold a Santander credit card and they don’t want to extend any further lending to me?
I’m unsure what would happen if I submitted a full application through the website. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Were you logged into your Santander account on the website when you did the eligibility check?
Suspect that the app check had details of your existing CC which may not have been available to the web check.
I've found that lenders seem to be reluctant to issue second cards to existing holders but that's just in my case.

on the website I am not logged in. In the app I am so obviously they can see that U already hold the credit card with them.
