New Santander 3% cashback card

also eating out but note eating out in pubs etc may not count
note you can earn nearly 7% 'cashback' on eg Tesco 0% 21 month purchase card on everything, not just petrol, assuming you save at say 4% and only pay minimum each month

The application asks how many credit cards you currently have, not seen this on applications I've done before. Well I have 5+ so answered truthfully but wondered what effect it had. Maybe lower credit limit offered?
Got accepted and I'll close a few of my lesser used ones

Agreed, odd. Isn't the more relevant question "what's your total credit limit across all cards"?
In any case, it's standard stuff that's returned in any credit search.

My total credit limit is twice my annual salary, and how many would know the total figure when that's not a normal question. I have a couple of cards on 0% stoozes but having 7 (now 8) cards keeps utilisation below 20%. I was just surprised as surely the hard credit search surely brings back details like that.

I've applied for one, will mainly use for petrol and continue to use Trading 212 card for everything else (I don't tend to eat out often)
Obviously a bit more admin but seen as it doesn't have a monthly fee that's the only issue I can see

How do the pay the cashback?

Monthly.
Cashback will be paid into your account on the same day as your statement date.

Question before I apply…….Will an additional card holder attract the same 3% cashback for transactions on the account? TIA

From their website
Earn cashback quicker with additional cardholders
- You can have up to 3 additional cardholders on your credit card. This means you could earn cashback more quickly on your account.
- The additional cardholders must be close family members who live at the same address as you. You will be responsible for the use of and payments on the additional cards. If the additional cardholder isn't a Santander customer we may ask for ID for them.
Doesn't EXPLICITLY say that they get 3% but I'd be very surprised if not.
Remember that the 3% rate only lasts for a year.
